D Gun Range — Local services in Aldine

I've been to all of the gun ranges around Houston, and many throughoutTX and the country. Every one has their "thing"-Super Luxurious, law enforcement preferred, hunter- centric, etc. I v wish more were like this one. It's a no nonsense, reasonably priced, safe, clean, modern place to shoot. I think because of it's weird location (strangely in the middle of nowhere but, still in the middle of Houston) there is always an availability, especially bordering normal shooting times. The staff is just courteous enough while still maintaining a stick up the rectum attitude assuring safety and respect for the environment. Just call to confirm availability, and someone who sounds like your friend or neighbor usually answers the phone and is helpful in the typical"Old Houston" way. It's also great for kids as long as they are around 4' tall. Otherwise the counters are too tall to allow them to properly aim riot guns without hitting the ceiling. Flew in from Comiefornia as I needed to just finish the shooting in TX to complete my LTC requirements. Spoke with Stacie(I believe) before flying in. Was very informative and nice on phone. When I arrived it was exactly as she said. Nothing fancy but it will do the job. I was lucky and got there when they opened and did my required time and shooting and Stacie was so very friendly and helpful. She faxed my paperwork to DPS & made me a copy. By the time I got to my hotel only about 8 minutes away I already got a confirmation from DPS that they received my paperwork. Hope to visit this place again soon. Went there at 8:20... They close at 9. (Which is the only reason I'll probably continue to go as others close too early.) There was literally not one other customer there nor anyone in the range. I drove from the other side of town and just installed a spring kit and just wanted to shoot two magazines quickly to see if I liked the change... And the dude working there said no cuz last call was at 8:15. I mentioned that I only needed 10 mins and would be out way before they close and that I drove across town just for this reason. He said no and reminded me that last call was at 8:15 as if there was anyone there to make last call to. Long story short....
