i just want to start of saying that i bought thousands of dollars of new appliances. A kitchen aid refrigerator, speed queen washer and dryers and Kitchen aid dishwasher. The fridge and washer and dryer went in perfectly and are working perfectly. That process was smooth and made easy. Sales people were helpful and not pushy and excellent to work with! How ever the brand new dishwasher i bought has not worked yet and it was deliver on 06/09 and it’s currently 07/25! once installed we filled it up with dishes and it had a was motor failure error code! this dishwasher is brand new! i went to bells to have them schedule a service and the first time they guy is supposed to come out he calls and says he can’t make it, so he doesn’t actually make it out to fix my BRAND NEW dishwasher until 07/18 upon arrival he states that Bells should just replace my dishwasher since there is NO REASON a BRAND NEW dishwasher doesn’t work. He also says he won’t be able to fix it until 7/25 a week from then! after he left i called bells to ask for it replaced and even though i had bought the dishwasher from bells! they were says the service guys would have to contact his company then to contact kitchenaide to get me a new dishwasher which boggles my mind considering i bought it from bells not service guy!! figuring that would take ages to complete i opted for the guy to come back out 07/25 and fix it so finally i could have a working dishwasher. But this morning at 8:20 on 07/25 the service guy calls and says he won’t be able to make it and will have to reschedule for 07/28!!! This is absolutely ridiculous! while i had good service with the rest of my purchases just be ware if your new appliances don’t work for whatever reason it will be impossible for you to get them working as every one puts blame on each other and can’t get it done in a timely manner!! the have now called and said they don’t have the part on 7/28 and will just call me when they get the part in getting closer to 2 months without a working dishwasher i payed 900$ for! It’s is now 8/7 and he is here to fix the BRAND NEW dishwasher. almost exactly 2 months later it’s been...
Read moreWe ordered a three-piece sectional from Bell’s the Monday after Thanksgiving. “When can we expect to receive delivery?” we asked our saleslady. “Let’s say eight weeks, just so we stay friends,” she replied. As week seven rolled in, we had heard nothing from Bell’s. We called. The saleslady said the factory making the sectional was running behind. It should arrive in a few weeks, she said. Week eight came and went. We wondered about that “friends” thing. As week nine expired we still had heard nothing from Bell’s (picking up on the pattern?). We called. “Hopefully it will be here next week. We’ll call you when it arrives to arrange delivery.” Okay. Next week came and went. No call. We called. “The factory in North Carolina was backlogged, so your order was shifted to a factory in Texas.” It’s going to take a while.”
After 14 weeks, it arrived. Bell’s finally called us unprompted – for the first time. When asked what compensation might be expected for missing the delivery date by almost 60%, Bell’s was taken aback. “Is this normal? I mean, you’re the one who said ‘eight weeks, just so we stay friends.’” They agreed to drop the delivery charge of $50.
Long story short… Bell’s never called us to update us on our order; we always had to call them. They blamed the factories and accepted no responsibility themselves. They made it clear that dropping the delivery charge was a favor to us, not an acknowledgment of neglect on their part (Let’s be clear; we contracted with Bell’s. Bell’s contracted with the factories. We would never have known about the factory backlog except that we called Bell’s. They did not call us when they shifted the order to another factory, further delaying the order.).
For a bell to be functional it needs a clapper. We’re not applauding. Except under duress, never again will we enter Bell’s Furniture in Rockford. (BTW, Two young men made the delivery. Both were professional and courteous – Bell’s only...
Read moreWe ordered a couch on June 2nd and were told 5-8 weeks for the couch to come in. It has continuously been pushed back without letting us know of ANY delays in shipping throughout July, August, and September. ANY time we wanted an update WE had to call ourselves. The answer we ALWAYS got was "Well, it's not our fault it is the manufacturer's fault and you wouldn't be bale to find anything anywhere else right now either" Those types of responses are horrible, if you knew that you wouldn't be able to find furniture anywhere else, why would you be leading people on and giving them high hopes an average delivery time only to push it back FOUR additional months. Working with Bell's has been extremely unprofessional and they have had horrible communication throughout the entire process. Nancy and Lindsey both have had horrible customer service skills and I am NOT a picky person, but they should understand some of the blame that them as a company have and not continuously try to push it off to the manufacturer. If there were an option for me to rate them 0 stars I absolutely would, AND given the fact that I could have gotten the same exact couch cheaper elsewhere AND they are STILL selling it on their website although they KNOW it is out of stock is absolutely ridiculous. I wanted to support a local business during these times, however I will never be ordering from Bell's again and I will be advising all of my colleagues, friends, and family never to...
