Signed up and paid for a summer men’s hockey league. Big mistake!!! Very poorly run league. Was suspended for 30 days for a scrum that happened. No fighting, no gloves off, not even any punches thrown. Yet I was given a match penalty for shoving another player. Straight B.S!!!! Pretty much stole my money, as I’m out for the remainder of the season. Wow. Go figure the refs and the other team are buddies……….just like leagues ran at Patterson arena. Great job guys! Hockey is supposed to be fun……..not frustrating. Lots of other arenas to play at and spend money. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place! Terrible ice, warm, terrible boards. Seen many sticks get stuck in the zam door and injured people. The glass on the boards is tall enough for mini mites can’t clear pucks. Ceiling is low. Has no climate control the glass fogs up. Locker rooms are some of the worst. Showers are disgusting many people use them as a urinal. The refs for the men’s league are just there to collect a check. Dropping the puck at intermission before the goalies are even across the blue line. Pretty much the worst rink I have been too. Played hockey all over for 23 years. Its worst than jolly before Fred bought it. Hopefully will never play...

The building needs renovations ASAP. Both exterior and interior is outdated and frankly looks sketchy. On the contrary, the people are nice, and the ice rink is alright. Overall, not a bad experience if you overlook how jaded everything looks.

However, I'm not sure why they would invite a sketchy used car dealership (West Michigan AutoXChange) to host a sales event in their parking lot with no mentions about it on their website or anywhere for that matter (I don't blame them). Maybe there was a deal worked out or some other reason for it, but it didn't really fit the family friendly image...
