I thoroughly researched the moving companies available to me in the Seattle area prior to selecting one to pack, store for ten months, then deliver and unpack all of our possessions that we have spent a lifetime collecting, creating, and meticulously maintaining. I was assured by your employees that I could not find a more careful moving company and I was promised I would get the A-Team for our move. They praised their packing capabilities, knowledge of how to break-down and subsequently assemble all items, and on and on. I was convinced and made arrangements for your company to handle our packing, storing, and moving. I have never regretted any other decision in my life as much as this one. Their personnel were the most careless and rude lot we have ever encountered, and we have moved several times, cross-country and local. By the end of the move, which was not completed as we had to ask them to leave before they destroyed yet another precious, had-made possession, we were honestly and seriously concerned for our own safety. Just interview the woman that was on your crew who is normally a scheduler and a gentleman named Bill. Those two individuals were professional and friendly. Your employees managed to break items we had invested countless hours designing and creating - handmade, one of a kind. They packed items carelessly and broke so much. They packed art with shop tools, sea shells with rocks, they lost our irreplaceable ottoman worth over $5k, they irreversibly scratched our brand new hardwood floor in multiple places through carelessness. Every piece of outdoor furniture was scratched, new indoor tables were scratched. They broke a slab of petrified wood that cannot be replaced. They broke lamps, outdoor heaters and fountains, they broke everything. They were abusing a coffee table I built around another piece of rock with hammers until I had to tell them to stop. They took apart our grandfather clock and did not put it back together and took it apart in a way we will have to hire an expert to put it back together, another thousand dollars. We were in tears by the time they left, but pulled ourselves together and sat down to distract ourselves with a show on the brand new TV we had purchased and installed before they came, and they had broken that as well without telling us, more thousands of dollars. And today, to top it all off, after we had our possessions packed by them, stored by them for a year, and then thrown into our house, they sent me a bill for $97 after we had already forked over thousand and thousands. No apologies, no compensation, not even basic human emotions such as sympathy, remorse; just arrogance and greed. Your company holds a special place...
Read moreWe used Chipman Relocations - Algona for our move from Seattle to TN as part of our United Van Lines move. Not only did this involve a move, but also required storage for several months in our destination due to a remodel of our new home. Warren Blake helped get the initial order set up via an in-person walk through of our house to record our contents. I received a quote from another moving company and was driven mad by having to complete a checklist trying to document every item in our house. It was nice to have Warren there to capture the info for us and to answer all of our questions. The quote process was easy with no hidden fees and Warren was available for all questions.
Elvis Marcado then showed up to do the packing/load of the truck. He was friendly and seemed to take great care in ensuring our items were protected.
We then switched to working with Brandi Bunkleman as our move coordinator. Again, excellent and timely communications. She was there to answer all of our questions and help us as we figured out how long to store our stuff during the remodel. She kept us up to date on the movers' arrival, the transit from Seattle to TN, and coordinating the final drop-off of our stuff from storage. She was even available to help track down a missing leaf blower which happened to be in a pile of blankets in the delivery truck. All of our items arrived (100+ boxes) and the only damage was a small piece on an item that we had packed poorly. Given the stress of moving, I was VERY happy to have this team help us with our move and keep us informed through every part of our journey. I would 100%...
Read moreMy company hired them to help with my relocation from California to Washington State. They packed and loaded my stuffs in California in 12/27/2022. I was quite shocked when they told me that the delivery would be between 12/31 to 1/16. This delivery time window spans more than two weeks!!! It made me very difficult to decide when I want to start renting my new place in Washington. Because there was a chance that the delivery would be made on 12/31. So I had to start renting my place on 12/31. Eventually, they made the delivery on 1/12. It took them more than two weeks to deliver my stuffs from California to Washington state! You can see how inefficient they are! Because of their inefficiency, I have to start paying rent earlier than I should. At the same time, I had to pay for my stays at the hotel because they had all my stuffs in their warehouse! During the time that I was waiting, I made several attempts to call the coordinator they assigned to me to ask for update. The coordinator simply avoided me by not picking up my call. I had to call their company's number and asked them to transfer my call to the coordinator. It was quite frustrating. The cost for their service is about $3000, although I am not the one paying for it. To be honest, I don't have a lot of stuffs and all my stuffs definitely worth less than $3000. Considering the additional costs from my rent and hotel stay, if I can do it all over again, I would simply throw away all my stuffs in California. Almost forget to mention, their movers broken the only computer desk I had and left me without a computer desk for...
