360 Adventure Tibble Fork
Today I found my beautiful walk at Tibble Fork. It was a perfect place for some wonderful time out enjoying the beautiful world. The water had a gorgeous dark turquoise color. The surrounding mountains weer topped with snow making the contrast between the bright blue of the sky and the white of the mountain tips stunning. The lake has 2 trails around it. The first trail that is on AllTrails goes up high on the South side staying safe and giving higher views of the lake. There is trail that stays closer to the reservoir, but it is often steep and narrow and not for the faint in heart. I went on the lower trail today for I wanted to stay close to the lake. I took 360 pictures around the whole lake and stitched them together and they are lower on the post. This lake has lots of options for people. There is fishing, and swimming. I saw many people hanging out in hammocks by the side of the water. It has a nice dock that is handicap/ wheelchair accessible that is such a beautiful place to take an aging loved one. On the dock it has spots you can set your kayak into to get set up before launching. I thought that was very cool. Beautiful place to bring the family...
Read moreThis place is a popular spot and for good reason. It is beautiful!! Many people go for casual paddles or just to hang out on the beach under the mountain landscape. The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because we were really disappointed with the upkeep of the bathrooms and lack of trash receptacles. In general the amount of trash was out of control. The only trashcans were in the bathrooms and were overflowing! Not to mention the toilets were about as full as can be- which is gross. So naturally, trash then spills out into the beach area and into the reservoir. My husband was taking our dog for a walk around the reservoir and came back with a bag of trash.. but then there was no dumpster to put it in so we packed it out with us. With that being said if you go please utilize the leave no trace principles and take your trash with you because it will spoil the beauty of this place. OR it would be nice if the money collected to enter this area went into better management from the forest service and some dumpsters....
Read moreThis one star rating has nothing to do with Tibble Fork itself. It has everything to do with the filthy imbeciles who overcrowd the reservoir and then leave their trash everywhere, only to ruin it for the rest of us. Tibble Fork used to be a beautiful, quiet and serene escape from the rest of the world. Now it’s congested and trashed. It’s heartbreaking to see and I’m so tired of it. The rule in the great outdoors is to “Pack it in, pack it out”. Bring a trash bag with you. Leave these beautiful places better than you found them by picking up after yourselves and a little extra. A lack of trashcans is NO EXCUSE for being lazy and indifferent. And to Forest Management, you can do something about this!! Double the fines for littering and vandalizing. Charge a higher entrance fee at the mouth of the canyon. Centralize the toll booth so that people...
