Soooooo many people all the time. Parking is basically always full from 10-6 in the summer. Rangers are present often writing tickets, which is fine as long as you have a pass. So many people just leave garbage everywhere. Fortunately there are amazing people in this world that go clean up after other people just to help this place stay clean, otherwise this place would be a dump!

Teenagers get a bit stupid here after dark sometimes. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, it has gorgeous views, and can be relaxing, but it's also not that nice of beaches, or not that clean of water, and crazy parking lot. It surprises me that it continues to be so busy. I guess there just aren't enough cool places like...

This is a stunning location for paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, or just hanging out with friends. During the winter it's a great spot for winter tubing. The road is plowed. Great spot for family pictures. The best part is that it is a short drive from the valley. This is definitely a hidden gem. If it is too hot in the valley, head to Tibble Fork for some cool air and water fun. This area is on National Forest land off of the Alpine Highway. It may cost you $6 per car for a 1-3 day pass to drive up there. It is well worth it. There is no cell service up the canyon so download the map...

Beautiful location. Iced over this winter. People still ice fishing and sledding. Went on a hike above the reservoir that was a nice easy loop. Picture is the meadow up above the reservoir. 4-22-23 - not iced over now but still some ice by the damn. Parking lot is clear but still quite a bit of snow. Hiked up to silver lake flat and then up almost to silver lake before we got stopped by snow. Additional pic is the restroom at the silver lake flat parking lot. Still 6-7 feet of snow there.
