I'm a regular (Weekly) customer of this place for the past 20 years. I have purchased all of my Stihl equipment from here, weekly chicken feed, smoker pellets, cleaning chemicals, truck loads of mulch every spring, etc. etc. The employees all recognize me and are very nice and helpful....Until today. I don't usually return items but I am having contractors remodeling our home and they needed HVAC return vent covers. Unfortunately I needed four of these and they only had two in stock, so I bought the two they had and I bought two of the more expensive covers that had the adjustalble vent. Unfortunately the adjustable vents would not fit my system. So I stopped by to see if they had received any more into stock of the plain ones and lucklily they had two in stock so I went to do an exchange. The only issue is that the contractor had opened the plastic film on one of the two that i needed to exchange and since the plastic had been opened they refused to exchange it. It had never been used and I presented my original receipt from less than two weeks ago. I was shocked when the cashier said she couldn't do anything with the open one and I said "seriously"....And then from across the room the manager (Whom I have known for years as he used to work for the previous owners) said, "Yeah seriously.....I can't resell that now that it's open." I really couldn't believe they were so petty as to not exchange this for a regular customer I simply just left everything with them and unfortunately I will no longer be a customer at this location going forward. Read moreWent in a couple days ago looking for paint. I asked for a satin finish of the color Silver Satin from Banjamin Moore in the off brand paint. I ended up with a color they called Royal Satin it was a more greyish color than what I asked. I also asked for a satin finish of the Benjamin Moore Teal color and they gave me an eggshell finish.When the colors were presented to me I didnt really pay attention, and the employee did not compare the colors I picked out, which was odd to me since its always done. But I trusted them, since I didnt have issues the first time I got paint from them (when they were Ace instead of Howard) Once I was home and started painting I noticed all the differences. At this point it was to late to go back and say something. In a way I noticed them unsure of what they were doing but I just thought that the kid mixing my painting was learning. Read moreSo I was at this ace hardware the other day and made a purchase, as I was leaving the parking lot the Entrance gate started closing on me. I slammed on my brakes so not to get hit by the gate or to damage the gate. I waited a few minutes and also tried to see if there was a trigger mechanism to force the gate open but it did not open. I turned around to go back to the store and about halfway back an employee was heading my way. The employee did not even stop or try to communicate with me as to what was going on or what he was about to do but looked at me and shook his head as if I was the DA. The employee got the gate open an as I passed him I thought I would at least get an apology but only his arrogant demeanor.
