Horrible!! I always shop local with small business owners but customer service would do better at Lowe’s or other big box stores! Supposed to keep customers happy and treat them fairly not rudely!! Been going here for years when was Ponemah Farms and always received top notch customer service with no snippiness!! Have gotten some of our Christmas trees from them with no problems what so ever in the past. In fact never had a problem like this anywhere else with a tree and if I ever did I’m sure the place of business would correct right away and not go on and on for 3 weeks!!
They treated me like I was lying about my tree drying out already! First questioned that I got a Balsam instead of a Fraser. Always spend a lot for my Christmas trees and expect them to last at least until Christmas!! I leave them up until Little Christmas January 6th so need a really fresh tree. If I can figure out how to attached pictures I would. It’s ridiculous how many green needles and branches are on my rug right now!! And my trees in the past weren’t petrified by January either!
What I really got was a cross breed not a Fraser! Smells like one and no underlying whitish hue to branches and not thick branches either like a Fraser. But they readily disagreed over and over again! So paid for this ridiculousness and smallest tree ever I got taboot! Been to other places where pay same price for huge FRESH tree!
First when walked into area of trees brown needles were all over the ground first week of December....mmm should have clued me in! They obviously weren’t all fresh and if I got a bad one out of the bunch should listen to your customers not argue with them that they are wrong. Was told to bring in a branch she said dryed out because fell off weeks ago and I kept it!!! REALLY!? No literally branches falling off already dried out!!! Why would I go out of my way to lie about this?!
I never write reviews either Good or Bad so this one is a biggie for me and really was handled so unprofessionally that it should be documented.
All I wanted was a discount for getting a dried out tree. As well as paying for a Balsam or a cross breed of some sort. It acts like a balsam & never drank a lot of water in first week that’s why I called right away. Returned her call a week before Christmas and acted like she didn't know the story and just offered for me to come and bring back old tree and pick out a new one....Seriously!!!
Then said no credit of any kind can be given on trees... why??? Then only offered a plant or maybe a decoration... no thanks poinsettias are poisonous to cats. Should have gotten some credit back. I’m sure other places would have probably given full credit at this point and I wasn’t even asking for that!
Bottom line don’t go here for your Christmas trees unless you want to be talked down to. They just lost a very good customer!! This past Spring & Summer I bought all my plantings there well no more! Should change their name....definitely not Sunny personalities...
Read moreHave had great success buying needs for our gardens here over the last couple of years, signed up for the rewards program this year. Service has always been excellent till this past Tuesday. Was completing a transaction for Coast of Maine products, which can be heavy and bulky. Had bought 2-300$ of the same in the last week or so; each time was told to "back up my truck to the front" which I did. This time I just did it on my way in because I new what I wanted etc. Young man at the register was processing my order when a young lady walked and inquired about the truck which was mine. Said "I need you to move it" we were maybe 30 seconds from completing everything and I offered I had been here twice before and was instructed to back up there..... She responded kind of loudly "who told you to do that"? there were several other people there and the young man at the register was uncomfortable ..... I said to her; "I will move it and I'll go buy what I need somewhere else" ... I understand how hard it is to find good front line help these days so this is a coaching opportunity for those you running the business. Having the bulk inventory up front for easy access and loading makes perfect sense to me (had back surgery last year) and I thank your other employees for facilitating a positive experience the other times I have been there. But publicly confronting a customer in a situation like that is never good form, and would be good if they are on the same page. I understand a lot of your employees are probably friends and family or high school kids which can make more things more challenging but I always welcome feedback with my teams in the past and like I said I thinks its an opportunity to teach and make things better .. I'm sure I will be back at some point in the...
Read moreI've always bought my annuals and perennials at Sunny Valley and love everything about them but it was today's amazing experience compelled me to leave this review. My family went to get our toddler daughter's first live Christmas tree, and I need to sing Harley's praises from the rooftops! He made our experience just so absolutely lovely from start to finish. He let us know about the complimentary hot apple cider, hot cocoa, and apple cider donuts in the market, then helped us select the most perfect tree. He is SO knowledgeable and generous with that knowledge. He snipped the top to create the perfect home for our star, freshened up the bottom, wrapped it beautifully and even put it on our car! We selected a second, potted tree and he thoughtfully explained our potting options, selected the best soil, repotted it beautifully, and even added extra ornaments on it for us! He approached everything cheerfully and thoughtfully and really took his time with us at every step. As silly as it sounds, we really felt cared for. It was the absolute loveliest start to our holiday season, all because of Harley! I highly recommend paying him a visit this season! (As a side note, the tree is GORGEOUS and full—always so impressed with Sunny Valley's quality and...
