The Scrounge Around — Local services in Anderson

My wife went in to visit & Upon entering, She was greeted by a small black and brown dog! Cute, right !? WRONG!! She tried to pet the dog assuming it was friendly because it approached her. The dog then snarled, lunged and tried bitting her!! As she walked away it also tried biting her feet!! IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN BEWARE OF THE DOG IT WILL BITE!! An unfriendly dog should NOT be in a place of business. Especially if they're allowing it to approach customers. It's only a matter of time before a child is bitten. My wife loves to thrift so she ignored the interaction w/ the dog and still chose to shop!! Within 15 minutes she found an item that caught her Intrest and as she was inspecting it she was approached by an older lady working in booth close by, My wife picked up the item sat on a dresser to inspect it, to see if it was worthy of her purchase. As she did this, The woman walked over from the neighboring booth & spoke in a hateful tone "what are you doing with that!?" so my wife having anxiety put it down and walked away. As she walked away she heard the older lady who we assume works there start rattle off how much she had paid for said item to another worker. Feeling unwelcomed, she left.

We feel sorry for the few vendors that actually have merchandise worth selling at fair prices. They must lose business due to such interactions.

I also went in looking for furniture about 2months ago. I was looking for a sofa. After a quick Google search, I saw there was a 'furniture Barn'. Located behind the 'scrounge around' building. So, I decided to check it out. I parked in the back where the furniture barn was located. First thing I noticed was all the garbage scattered behind the building. When walking towards the barn entrance I saw employees working dragging random items out from the building & unloading a trailer. Despite that I chose to park & go into the furniture barn.

Upon approaching the building, I was quickly greeted by a short older lady with a snarky attitude. (Quickly realizing it was most likely the same woman my wife encountered based off my wife's description of her)Before I could even speak she said "excuse me what do you think you're doing!?" To which I replied "I'm looking for furniture" & I asked if there was furniture for sale in the "barn". she shouted "NO ITS ALL INSIDE this area is OFF limits!"

If there is NO furniture barn then PLEASE stop advertising it online and in front of the store!! As far as I could tell, from the quick glance I was able to see, before being scolded & turned Away, is the "furniture barn", is a hoard of junk!!! There is only a small pathway in which you can walk thru the mountain of hoard!! (I've not went back due to this interaction.)

Most important things to keep in mind when shopping there: -DO NOT GO into the barn unless you want to be scolded -DO NOT touch anything! -BEWARE of the dog...

This was the best flea market I have ever seen. It’s so clean and organized! The staff was so friendly; and the owner oh my goodness was the best. I found beautiful fabrics for $3 dollars. I can’t wait to go back.* *Review change. Fiancé and I came back This past Saturday......I was so excited because of the great finds I found 4 month previously. We walked in and got a weird stare; I asked the tall lady about Indian Motorcycle t shirts and she was very rude with her quick comment that she was going to ask someone else, well if she did ask she never said a word to me. I was immediately ready to go. The things I did see were disarray and overpriced. What a difference 4...

They have hired a rude cashier who refused to sell me an item because it didn’t have a vendor number. On another occasion I was going to buy a painting but it looked like it had been marked down suspiciously so I informed the manager. Manager checked with vendor who claimed that someone else had marked it down but I was told I could buy it at that price anyway. I didn’t want to have anything to do with a scam so I declined to buy. When I went in today some other items were marked down in this same booth in the same manner. It became obvious to me this vendor lied about the other item. I tried to point this out to the owner. She claimed I was yelling at her when I wasn’t. I am done...
