A total epic failure of a shopping trip. I have shopped here many times and generally speaking, I've had good experiences. Today.. not so much. Could be because I'm extra grumpy today. Or it could be because I had high expectations that went spectacularly unmet.
I was looking for a dog stake and tie out for our mastiff - who we're taking camping this weekend. My wife works close to a petco and could have gotten whatever they had but I just knew that Fleet farm would have a better selection so I told her I'd stop at lunch and pick one up. So the first thing I did was to grab a basket because I knew I was going to have to stock up on atomic fireballs, anise candies, and root beer barrels which i did.
Then found my way to the pet supplies. A huge area where I was sure to find exactly what I needed. I got to the leashes to find that 60%of the hooks that should have contained what I needed were empty! The area looked like Cabbage Patch dolls at Christmas. Not only did I NOT find exactly what I wanted, I couldn't even find something that would work. I found a small screw-in fence anchor that someone else had dropped in the rack and thought that maybe it might be ok.
I found a cable that would work too and by this time I needed to get back to work so I hustled up to the checkout. The checker was very pleasant and rang up all my candies and the cable... but when it came to the anchor we had a problem. There was a price tag on it that said $1.00. Pretty cheap I thought... but ok. However.. the barcode wouldn't scan. The checker tried many many times to get it to scan. I asked if maybe she could type in $1.00... but nope. She waved at another person at the courtesy counter who came over. She explained that it wouldn't scan so the courtesy person tried several times. Again.. maybe type in the price???
She then grabbed her phone and was trying to look it up, but with no description, found it difficult to find...
As I said. I think I was grumpy about not finding exactly what I wanted after having taken the time to make a special trip to Fleet Farm. So I said that it really wasn't that important and let's forget about it. (Maybe thinking that she might just your in the price) and Courtesy said ok and set the anchor aside. At which point I said without the anchor, I really don't need anything else so I canceled my order and left with nothing.
Should have skipped the trip and let my Dear Wife pick up what we...
Read moreI have had the worst Christmas shopping online experience ever with Fleet Farm. And this is my last resort to get customer service to fix it. I have placed 2 orders with fleet farm since November online to be shipped to my house. They only sent my half the order but charged me for the whole thing. Still waiting on the boots they charged me for but never sent. They said they canceled the order due to inventory issues. (My bank declared the purchase fraud and I had to authorize the transaction... the charge processed my account and fleet farm never sent my items) Charged me any ways. In the mean time, I placed a second order thinking that they would resolve the charges (you can’t get anyone to answer a phone....) Then.... I started getting 1 package at a time for the second order, I orderedI 4 items... I got all but 1 package... but the shipping order receipt said they shipped it... but didn’t! I tried calling for TWO WEEKS and got no one. I reached out to Ankeny fleet farm, they gave me a direct number to fleet farm. I FINALLY got a person to answer, she took my information including order number and missing item number. NO ONE CALLED ME BACK! It has been 1 week since I left the message. I called the store that shipped the item... they told me they cant help me, even though THEY are the ones that shipped the items!!! They told me they cant do anything to assist. They said they would have their manager call me... still waiting for that call, its been 5 days! I went back to Ankeny told them the whole story again, they actually had the customer service on the phone... told them situation, they said they show I recieved the package... I took the tiny little wrapping that that other item came in with the shipping receipt and he agreed, there was no way that a sweatshirt and a hat both would fit in the package....Customer service said they would contract FedEx and verify it was delivered, so now I will wait the 2 days- 1 month for you to not follow up! I am so upset with my in line shopping experience... and to top it off... I agreed to pay $227 for all of this and I was billed $233 and am missing a $50 sweatshirt and $35 boots! I was also charged for the Carhartt $20 promo gift card, that I should have got, for FREE since I bought $100 worth of Carhartt clothing... that I never got, but got charged for. I hope someone in upper management reads this and fixes this! I have run out of options and have been ripped off $85 and two gifts. Christmas...
Read moreI'm truly sad to give Fleet Farm this bad review as I was an avid customer and loved shopping with fleet! This is because of their LACK of customer service. I understand its the holiday season and things are 10x as stressful but that doesn't mean you don't help your customers. This started as I paid for my $150 transaction. I was hounded by 3 workers about getting a credit card through them which is fine but I was also trying to calm my toddler and get out of the store and get home. I forgot my bag and only took home my big items. With so much going on I figured I left this in my pile of Christmas items. When I went to search a week later I couldn't find my bag anywhere. My fiance called and asked if they had the bag at customer service (this was a week out from the transaction) and im sure they had put these items back on the shelf with it being a week out. Which is understandable but WRONG. I've now paid for $60 of merchandise I will not get. Which i do take accountability for but we were quickly dismissed on the phone and told there was nothing that could be done. It took calling 4 times for the phone to be answered I ended up calling the Waukee location with a problem that wasn't theirs because we were also told by Ankeny our receipt couldn't be looked up. Then I said F it ill do an online order to do in store pick up. I got my items in my cart and proceeded to check out online. Upon pick up I was greeted and then waited for 15+ minutes for them to come out with ONE bag of candy I ordered because they sold out of my items i placed on Saturday. I placed my order on Saturday, they weren't done until Monday. Again I understand the holiday season is busy, stressful and hard to manage. But I've had two very disatisfying visits and im sad to say I'll be finding somewhere else to shop and refer...
