To start off, I walked in and was not greeted. Not the first time this happened but my husband walked in a minute ir two after me and was greeted quite nicely. I brushed it off assuming maybe I wasn’t seen.
As I continued through the shop, I noticed lots of good things but also lots of things that I wouldn’t classify as antiques or even vintage.
My husband grabbed some things and headed to the checkout counter while I grabbed a coffee at the shop inside. I could hear his very pleasant interaction at checkout from where I was standing. He even received a coupon to visit the Grayslake location.
There was an item I wanted to purchase as well so I grabbed it and headed to the register. There were three employees behind the counter. One was helping a customer off to the left. Another had her back turned in the middle. And the third one was off to the right near a register. I stepped in front of the third employee and she just stared at me. Didn’t say a word. So I nervously put my item down on the counter and asked if I could check out.
She didn’t reply or say anything, just grabbed the item and started doing her thing with the tag and receipt. She asked me if it would be cash or card. That was all she said to me the whole time other than telling me my total. When the transaction was complete she handed me my card and my bag. I said thank you, she said nothing.
The item I purchased was something from the spring collection at Hobby Lobby that I hadn’t managed to get my hands on before it sold out. I was excited to see it so I purchased it, but the whole interaction left me wishing I had left it for another customer. Extremely disappointed.

It had rained so the ground was wet and I could not believe what he was doing. He knew he was blowing dirt, mud, and gravel onto cars since he also used it on my car to try and blow it back off. I called her with an odd request to see if she had a brooch in the store still that I had seen a week before but did not purchase and described it to her. She went out of her way to find the brooch and even gave me her personal phone number so I could send her a picture so she could make sure it was the right one.
