This is the 2nd time I try to go here & both times there is a “sheriff” blocking the entrance with a sign saying its “full.” My mom & dad were already inside waiting for me, so they reassured me there were people leaving & it was almost empty when I got there. When I asked the “sheriff” he said & I quote “Once its full capacity once, its full for the rest of the day” which doesn’t make any sense when people come & go all the time & the spring closes at 8pm?? Also, I don’t want to make this about skin color or race, but the people in front of me were black & we’re latinos & he denied access to both of us, however, when my mom was leaving a few minutes after I turned around & drove away, my mom noticed he let a car of a white family in which made my mom furious. So its not “full” for them, but its “full” for POC’s? Ridiculous. Just sitting in his sheriff car, on his phone, with an attitude, doing nothing but denying unnecessary access to locals who just want to enjoy the springs. Do better, do your actual...
Read moreI visited Kelly Park Rock Springs on 05/20/23. Very disappointing experience. We live in Orlando which is 45 minutes away Days prior I checked the park website for information to plan ahead.
After I get up at 4:30 am to leave with my daughter & son-in-law at 6:00 am we made the car line at 6:30 am to wait for the opening. Once inside we were told by the lifeguards (Tyler & Carmen) we could not use a double tube we brought.
I spoke to your manager Ron and told him your website does not mention that the use of double tubes was not allowed. He said it didn’t matter as long as the tube was bigger than 5 feet will not be allowed on the spring. He told me I could leave and get another floating device. I told him not as I knew if we left we will not be allowed entrance again by the deputies at the gates. This really spoiled our first visit to the spring. I am not planning to return and will tell everybody about our...
Read moreBe there by 9am or you're not getting in. See pics for pricing, but it's super affordable. This place is awesome. There are two places to hop in for tubing, at the spring head, or about half way down where it pools a bit. If you start at the head there are faster parts, but there are also bigger, sharper rocks to dodge. Either way, a sturdy pair of water shoes are highly recommended. If you bring goggles or, as I prefer, a snorkel mask, you can see the little fish swimming with you. I actually saw tons of wildlife this trip, I saw a deer chilling in the woods near the return path, and everyone got to witness a soft shell turtle laying her eggs near where the water pools. Don't worry, the park rangers blocked off the area when she was done to protect the eggs from people. But, needless to say, an amazing experience and the cherry on top to a fantastic tip to...
