My wife and I camped here in our 20' compact travel trailer from August 11 - 14, 2025. Overall it was a fun experience but there were a few quirks about the facilities that could be improved. We'd made our reservation about a month out, and the campground was only about half full when we arrived. After reviewing the campground's map we decided to reserve Site #11 because it was close to the restroom/shower facility (50 yards walk away) and it was on the outside of the loop road that circles the campground. We made our reservation about a month out, and the campground was only about half full when we arrived. The morning of our arrival date, we called park's office to see what was the best time to arrive since this campground is part of the Rock Springs lazy river water park and it's often super crowded during the weekends and most summer days whenever the kids are out of school. The staff told us that we should get there about 12:00 pm even though the official check-in isn't until 2:00 pm. We actually got there about 1:00 pm and there was a police car and armed deputy at the gate to deter young gate runners after the Rock Springs area hits its 350 visitor limit each morning shortly after it opens. When we checked in at the office (near the springs), the staff was very pleasant and gave us a map and instructions on how to get into the campground. You have to drive back outside the park's perimeter fence, then drive north about a quarter mile, and then go in through a keypad coded entrance gate to access the campground. This prevents hooligans from trying to get into the Rock Springs swimming area via the campground after the park reaches its max capacity once the park opens at 8:00 am (almost every day during the summer). Before we'd arrived, we'd read online that all the campground sites had concrete pads, but where we got there, we learned that the concrete pads were really to elevate the picnic tables off the dusty and sandy terrain below them (not to park your rig on), so we wound up parking on the dirt. Additionally, the shore power box was correctly located on the left side of my camper as I backed it in, but the water hose spigot was on the opposite side of the site, so my water hose wasn't long enough to connect my camper to it. It was not that big of deal, but just made no sense to me on why they laid the site's hookups out in this manner. The restroom/shower house was relatively new and had four shower bays (one large one for ADA) one urinal, and one double sink (see my interior photos). The water pressure in the showers was a bit on the low side, so you had to run the water for about 3 minutes before the hot (warm) water came out of the shower head. The double sink where you shave (for men) had those annoying push button water-saver valves (instead of spigots), no hot water and no shelf to lay your ditty bag on. Additionally, there is no AC in the restrooms, so it was a bit steamy inside during August. As far as cleanliness, we only showered late in the afternoon during our 3 night stay, so by that time of day, the floor was somewhat muddy because the cleaning was done early in the mornings. There are no sewer hook ups at any of the campsites but they do have a dump station and rinse hose on the road exiting the campground. The nice thing about this campground is that you can walk about 300 yards south and enjoy the Rock Spring lazy river area, which is really beautiful and refreshing to tube and swim particularly during the hot summer months. There are also two nice hiking trails here at the park that area easy to navigate and have some good scenery. Other challenges associated with this campground is it's located in a rural area, and there is only one place outside the gate about a mile away to get dinner and drinks (and it's kind of a biker bar, but with friendly people). We stopped in there for a beer, but for dinners we drove to Mount Dora (12 miles NW) which has some excellent...
Read moreSuper impressed by this campground! The grounds were all really well maintained, and park staff were visible maintaining the road, clearing the trash bins, and performing other upkeep the entire time we were there. Each site includes a fire pit/ring, picnic table, electric hookup, water, and concrete pad. Each site was tidy, the entire site felt safe and secure, and a camp host is present each night. The (women’s) bathrooms were super clean, had hot water in the showers, and had hooks on all the stalls—we love! There’s a small playground as well as pavilion with picnic tables inside the actual campground in addition to the park facilities. The campground is gated and secured at night, and the park staff was super helpful and professional. We loved our experience here. I cannot more highly recommend...
Read moreWhoever is the manager or in charge of this park needs fired. Having cars line up on the side of the road to create a safety hazard and using tax payer money to have an officer always there when it can be avoided by selling tickets in advance so people know whether or not they’re getting in. Also- not allowing more people in during the afternoon hours after people left is just lazy. The park barely has people in later in the day and you still close for the entire day?...
