After reading all the perfect reviews I was really looking forward to this place and was ultimately disappointed about our experience. We went on a Sunday morning while it was lightly raining. It wasn't crowded. After we had selected a tree we pointed it out to the guy who said he would get it to our vehicle. I forgot to tell him we had a tarp in the trunk to protect the roof and he never asked if we did. It wasn't until we had left did I realize he never asked if wanted the tree freshly cut and if we wanted any of the branches cleared on the bottom. Now we didn't see them wrap up the tree so I have no idea if they shook the tree and if they at least cut the bottom. For $72 I would assume they did but because all the branches were still on the bottom I'm inclined to think they just wrapped it and threw it on our roof. Overall for the price I was a little disappointed, the hot chocolate and fire were nice and they had quite a few different fresh wreath and garland options. Lesson learned, make sure you explicitly ask for those services if you get the same guy as us.
Update:. Thank you for the quick response, it was my misunderstanding that those things occured after tree selection. But it makes...
Read moreI had a a great experience.
Because of Covid the holidays have been understandably a little more stressful and perhaps with a little less joy this year. While my wife and I usually spend Christmas with my parents we are unsure if we can safely do that this year, so we decided to get our own tree just in case. It’s also special because wejust get married last month and this is our first Christmas married together.
Wanting to do this safely as possible I spoke to a wonderful lady over the phone for guidance (I didn’t get her name, sorry), and she was happy to help, even when I called her a few times in a row with questions about how to order. I chose to order online, and do contactless pickup to make it safer for everyone involved.
Now I was a little hesitant because I’m picky about my tree, and am used to going to a farm to choose and cut my own. However the tree chosen by the staff was wonderful, even at it’s requested tiny size. It was nice and full, no bad sides at all. They were also accommodating as we ordered a stand and some wood from our car to have it brought to us on the spot.
Thank you for helping to make this Christmas a little better, given the...
Read moreThis was our first trip to Payne's. Admittedly we were headed to a tree farm in northern Baltimore County but found them through Google, read their reviews, and decided to give them a try. They are tucked away and a little hard to find but very much worth the effort.
Payne's is an experience which is above all family friendly. Trees are priced and color coded by species and height. Quick takeaways are how easy the family staff make it to pick out a tree that meets your needs, wrapping it and securing to your vehicle. Customers are free to shop for related Christmas items and tree accessories (credit cards accepted) while children can safely play in the open while enjoying Christmas music. Hot chocolate and marshmallows are available for $1 with an outdoor fireplace and several spots for photos and selfies.
We noted the many number of young families there and appreciated the extra effort Payne's took to make it welcoming and stress-free, especially with little ones to watch. This business is organized and customer-focused and it shows.
Do yourself a favor this year and consider visiting for your tree- one less thing to worry about with such great...
