Sonic Sound — Local services in Arlington

My experience at sonic sound couldn't have been more awesome. two things i want to start off with is the quality of installation, and the amazing customer service they have. it was hard setting up an appointment because they are always so damn busy with appointments. i finally found an available time that worked for both of us and they took my car in to work on it for the whole day (it was a pretty heavy install). throughout the day they kept me informed on how the car was coming along and always notified me if their was any change in plan or any change in the price they quoted before going along with it. their were a couple things that did go wrong during the install but i am 100% sure it was out of their control. The first problem was a dead amp that i had in my car before the install. i know that it was my fault for blowing it because i had a very bad ground that i wired myself, it was also acting very fishy before the shop worked on my car. the second problem was a 3sixty.3 that died while i was in the car and they were helping me tune it. i have returned that thing 3 seperate times for failure (which was installed by sonic sound to manufactures specs). basically that thing was always crapping out. well with these problems kevin (the owner) hooked me up with a 280 dollar amp and knocked it down to the price he bought it for $200. i need to stress the fact that my kicker amp was definitely destroyed by me and he was kind enough to help a college student save a few bucks. then we went with his solution to work around the 3sixty.3 so everything could be hooked up correctly and discounted the parts required for it. finally the install was complete and damn is it a clean install. no wires visible everything sounds and works perfect and most importantly no damage to my car. i seriously could write twice as much to cover everything else they did but this is starting to get too lengthy. i want to include one more thing, after the install was finished they closed up shop at 9 and offered me a beer. i got to know kevin and some of his employees over the next 30 minutes. They didn't treat me like a customer, but more like family.

TLDR: kevin and his employees hooked me and my car up, the install was very well done. we ended up going over my quote because of unforseen problems that were 100% my fault and they went above and beyond to ease the blow on my wallet by discounting some parts. MOST IMPORTANTLY THEY TREATED ME NOT LIKE A PAYING CUSTOMER. BUT FAMILY.

Sonic Sound came highly recommended to me by my Lexus dealer, Pohanka Lexus, so if that doesn't already tell you something good, I don't know what does. I wanted to install a remote start for my 2012 Lexus, which was the last year my ES 350 came without remote start as an option, and Pohanka didn't have anybody who could install, because they did not make an OEM remote start for that model year. The second my car was no longer covered by its powertrain warranty, I high-tailed it over to Sonic Sound and ultimately so happy I did, because Kevin (owner) and his very skilled and professional crew did an excellent job ...such an awesome job I came back to them on a few more consecutive Saturdays to have more customizing work done to my car, and each time the work was done as good as, or better than I hoped! The remote start (I highly recommend getting it with Viper Smart Start with GPS) works great! Next I got my windows tinted to the maximum legal limit in VA (they will advise you what it is) and their work was very professional and well done. (Lifetime warranty for any bubbling, peeling or fading). Then, I replaced my OEM halogen fog lights with brighter LED bulbs (they sell a nice bulb set or you can bring your own). I got some other minor customization work done - just talk to Kevin about what they can and cannot do for your car. While most jobs take a few hours, and you'll want to arrange to drop off and pick up, they have a nice clean shop, with leather couches and a TV if you wait. I cannot more highly recommend Sonic Sound for the customization...

Not sure how to respond to the comment, so just editing this review and putting it here. That was the most ridiculous and insane quote ive ever heard for a service in my entire life. You people clearly try to scam others and probably were hoping I'm someone who was a first timer and ready to just say yes to that quote you gave. 550 for a sub and amp installation fee? Insane. I just did it for 200 at another shop that has better reviews. This is the 4th car in my life ive gone to install subs in and ive never even heard of a quote close to 550 before.

Edit: Responding to your comment, you saying that 550 for just the labor for installing a sub and amp is fair is wild. And budget? Your acting like i cant afford the 550. Nothing to do with budget, that has to do thats a ridiculous and unfair price. Why would I even pay that much? Thats not anywhere near a normal price for that. Like ive said ive done this multiple times throughout my life and even for this specific area and time I had gotten 3 different quotes from places and one quote was 250 and another was 200. Which both places have higher ratings on Google, one is a 4.6/5 and the other was a 4.8/5. So you acting like your quality is above these places doesnt seem to be true. Also talking about me giving bad reviews? Look thru my reviews, ive given more 5 stars than one stars, you are just wrong. And the comment about me talking about the price? Out of my 50 plus ratings/reviews only one time have I ever even mentioned anything about price and that was for a tattoo that was overpriced and...
