Stopped by Westlake Ace Hardware, and as always, it had that perfect small-town hardware store vibe—friendly employees, well-stocked shelves, and that faint smell of lumber and possibilities. It’s the kind of place where you walk in for one thing and leave with six, including something you absolutely did not need but convinced yourself was essential.
Now, let’s talk about my PVC fitting fiasco.
I’m in the plumbing aisle, looking for a specific elbow joint when I hear a loud thud from the garden section. I turn the corner just in time to see a guy—let’s call him Chuck the DIY King—staring down at a 50-pound bag of fertilizer that just exploded all over the floor. His shopping cart is tipped slightly, and in his hand, he’s holding a PVC fitting that he somehow launched across the store like a projectile.
I ask, “You good?”
Chuck, still in shock, holds up the fitting and mutters, “Didn’t think it’d have that much torque.”
At this point, an employee walks over, surveys the crime scene, and with the straightest face ever just says, “That’s why we recommend a pipe wrench, sir.”

Read moreThis is how not to talk to someone on the phone. I was going to give five stars but then along came Lynn. Someone called me from their store which was blocked, I returned the call, but naturally did not get the person who called. I hung up,no problem. However, it occurred to me the reason for the call. I had inquired about pet vacs. That are held at that location. The person tried to help, but provided the wrong info. Still no problem as I was able to track down the web site. My thought was how great that they would call back to correct the info. So, I called back again to compliment then on their customer service, big mistake. Lynn immediately interrupted me in mid sentence and would not listen to what I was saying. Therefore a compliment was turned into a complaint and a lost...
Read moreI have been coming in almost daily while working on home repairs, so I wanted to leave my review. I love this store, everyone is so helpful and kind. Seriously, everyone is great, but Andie and Trevor are my faves.
Andie is so kind and always holds such wonderful conversation. She always makes a point to come say hi when I come in and is an absolute ray of sunshine. Trevor is quiet, but such a kind soul. Both of them are beyond wonderful, helpful, and so hard working. I even had an employee (I didn't get his name) catch me outside to inform me they have wood cutting services, as I was trying to fit an 8ft plank in my tiny car.
Seriously, the best hardware store in town. The vibes are immaculate and the people are so friendly! Thank you to all of you at...
