Dollar General — Local services in Ashville

I've always liked my local Dollar General but it has definitely gone downhill! It's always so hot in the store! It's very very crowded with merchandise laying everywhere! You can't get down the aisles without having to move carts of freight or just freight out of the floor to get through!! It's not clean at all! Also, don't use the self-checkout bc the manager, Summer, will talk about you to the other associates (saying you are not scanning everything) and treat you as if you were stealing something! When the lines are wrapped around the corner and down the aisles they will not open the other registers to help out! They don't care that you have to wait! The way it is right now I'd rather go down the road to Family Dollar/Dollar Tree instead of going in there! J.M.O. they need new management! Summer ( the mngr) now just...

When did Dollar General start leaving the store completely empty of employees with customers inside and allow both employees to smoke out front of the store. After waiting 5 minutes in the front of the store to checkout I left to find both the manager and a employee smoking something together out front of the store, I asked them if they worked here and they rudely replied " why wouldn't I work here" Ridiculous .. This is my “home” DG, about 7 minutes from my house. I’m here 5-7 times a week. By far my favorite location, it’s a smaller store but they do well keeping it orderly while placing a ton of freight.

Employees and management are great, never had any interaction that wasn’t pleasant, amongst hundreds.

Parking is great, it’s in the Piggly Wiggly strip mall.

Love the self checkout. Produce is also nice, although being next to a grocery store I wonder how profitable it can...
