Not enough handicapped parking. And several of the very few handicapped spaces don't even have access areas/aisles (they're just standsrd spaces), making them utterly useless to anyone who utilizes an assistive device such as wheelchair or walker since there is no room to open car door wide enough (which an access aisle would solve). As a result, it is very difficult for me and others with disabilities to patronize this retail center. I avoid it! I am considering no longer going to the nail salon because there is no accessible parking on that side of the parking lot and, often, no parking whatsoever there. This means I must try to find a parking space that is usually very far from the salon and that has no room for me to use my assistive device. Then I must struggle across an uneven surface (with a large, very deep slope into a frain grate) with no pedestrian crosswalk or wheelchair accessible curbing. As a result, this trek is dangerous and causes great phyisical pain to those in...
Read moreWhen you visit a restaurant, you expect 2 things to happen, good food and good service. Non of these were present yesterday, Sunday, at Rock Creek Village Center. Our waiter was forgetful and very slow, the restaurant was almost empty so no excuses... It took 10 minutes to get ketchup and over 15 to get extra tartar sauce! As for the food, well, nothing to write home about.. we ordered 2 portions of lamb meat balls which were passable and 2 orders of Scottish fish and chips. The fish wete totally dry inside and they were covered by a hard fried shell that was difficult to chew, leave alone enjoy. It was most certainly the worst fish and chips we have ever tried! I have to add that the fries were not crispy and lacked any taste.. The waiter never told us about specials or if we wanted any dessert. To top it off, our bill was sent to another table along with our credit cards and it took about 7 minutes to rectify. My friends and us...
Read moreThis is a nice shopping center. There is a wide range of businesses and a gas station. Some new businesses just don't seem to last here at times. Thankfully, New Mandarin is still open. There is, at times, chaos in the parking lot. From people from the bar at Villa Maya. If you prefer calmness while grocery shopping. I suggest that you avoid the Safeway between 3:00pm and 4:00pm. The little kids from Wood Middle School are ridiculous and don't care. The parking lot and the sidewalks are well maintained. That goes for snow removal, shoveling, and salting as well. Much credit to the street sweeper staff who maintains...
