The University of Georgia Health Center exemplifies what healthcare should look like: sincere, community-driven, and built on actual patient care—not institutional ego. The physicians and staff here value humility, professionalism, and real-world effectiveness. There’s no room for performative excellence or academic theater. What matters is competence, empathy, and doing the job right. Simple as that.
Then there’s the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where reputation often overshadows reality. Too many students are lifted by faculty favoritism, politics, and excessive internal support that inflates their image far beyond their actual skill set. Honors and letters of recommendation are too often handed out not for excellence, but for loyalty, flattery, and internal networking. It's an ecosystem that protects those who play along, and sidelines those who don’t.
At UGA, what you get is real-world preparation. No nonsense. No games. Just a healthcare environment that values its mission and expects you to show up for it. At UM Miller, what you get is a political performance—one where students succeed based on who they appease, not what they...
Read moreDon't go here-go to urgent care or find a different primary care provider. I have gotten bronchitis twice because of a lack of action on their part. Twice I have gone in with what starts as cold, they tell me just to take Sudafed, and then the inflammation has spread to my lungs causing bronchitis. Mind you, my colds had never progressed to bronchitis until I went to the Health Center because my former primary heath providers always gave me something to help fight it. And the last, most awful cherry on top, I went in needing counseling. They made me take a mental health test, and came back with "Wow okay so your'e really anxious and depressed, too bad we can't see you." Thank goodness I wasn't a suicide risk, but imagine if someone that was thinking of self harm came in and got that answer? The University of Georgia Health...
Read moreI’ve used the health center for the past three years and it’s always been great, but my experience there today was worthy of a review. I never leave reviews, but everyone at the health center, women’s clinic, and pharmacy today were all amazing and went above and beyond to accommodate me. I showed up about 30 minutes early but was willing to wait around until my appointment, but they bumped me up 20 minutes so I wouldn’t have to wait. Once I got in, Andrea Welter at the women’s clinic answered all of my questions and was so sweet and accommodating. At the pharmacy, I had an issue with my insurance and was willing to pay out of pocket for my prescription, but the pharmacists insisted on calling my insurance company and clearing up the problem. I walked out of there much earlier than expected and was so pleased with my experience...
