I have had a Shore 930 moisture tester for about 8 years. I purchased it primarily to test hot corn, as it comes out of my Super B corn dryer. I have had other testers in the past that really struggled with consistency on hot corn. There is nothing more frustrating that trying to dial in the dryer when one sample is reading 2% high and then next is 2% low. This is where the Shore testers shine. It has been very consistent and accurate on both hot and cold corn. I wish the sensors on the dryer were as bulletproof as the Shore.
The built in scale on the 930 is accurate but requires frequent calibration. It is a very simple process, but I have bought a cheap kitchen scale which is ultimately easier to use, and I can weigh out a sample at the same time as I have one in the tester - this is why 4 stars...
