Newcastle Produce — Local services in Auburn

Have been going to Newcastle Produce for at least 10 years. My sister used to deliver fresh eggs, hence the discovery of this rare fresh produce grocer and deli. We usually purchase as many as possible of the daily, fresh, homemade peanut butter cookies ....which we freeze for afternoon tea. In addition, we choose several of the deli salads and some of the fresh vegetables. Sometimes, we indulge in the homemade salted caramels or other local delights. Always an adventure and great experience-the staff are friendly and offer their best service...if slow, it is because they care about the products they serve! ...

Its name does not do it justice. It is so much more than a produce store, although it has a beautiful array of fresh fruit and vegetables. It's a gourmet specialty food store hosting delicious local products. It's a sweet little gift store with cute items such as mugs, tea towels and handmade soaps. But best of all it is one of my favorite Wheelmen coffee spots with a huge selection of yummy muffins & scones displayed beside an appetizing delicatessen. Just left their business.. I mean I left everything on the counter and walked out. Apparently, the new owners were too busy facing merch to notice a customer. These are the new owners BTW. I was in last week and there were six employees standing in a huddle talking amongst themselves. It took that group several minutes to even notice. Please note I am local and have walked out due to lack of customer service. They really need to get their stuff together, otherwise they are giving the same sub-par...
