Ok, so I am new to the area.... I mean brand new and I bought myself and my entire moving company crew the Rat Trap Sandwich each and half Potato Salad and Half Macaroni and I gotta say, it was just fantastic! The potato salad was, honestly, the best I have ever had and the bread on the Rat Trap (which I suppose gets it's name because once you bite into it you are stuck) is soft and fresh and just delicious. The varied assortment of meats in the rat trap is to die for. Besides all that, the people there are just fantastic. Friendly, nice and service oriented. Newcastle Cheese Shop AKA The Rat Trap, to the locals, is a community favorite. It's one of our best kept secrets. Everything is fresh and delicious. I would recommend calling in your order, so you don't have to wait in the long line. Otherwise, arrive after 1 pm to have the place to yourself. As you stand in line, grab your drinks and chips. I would recommend having the cheese shop have order slips ready for the customers to fill out while they stand in line. On the barrel by the door would be an ideal spot.
