It’s been about a month since my wedding and I finally feel ready to write this review. Tanya of Posh Personal Chef service was hired to cater my 250 person wedding on December 11th 2021. We emailed back and forth to finalize the menu details and I was super hopeful of what my wedding catering could be. I was excited to find someone in Georgia who I thought could bring my New Orleans heritage to my wedding. We set up a tasting and I was pleased with the food and the flavor that she presented to me. We spoke a few days leading up to the wedding in which we confirmed the menu and I felt good moving forward. There were no issues communicated to me at anytime before the wedding.
On wedding day my wedding planner informed me that Tanya said that she would be late but not to worried because she had prepared everything and just need to be headed. I arrived at my wedding reception to COMPLETE disarray. NOTHING was ready. There was no hot food, not even the salad had been prepared. My wedding coordination team was running around like mad women to try and get food out for my over 200 guests. I did not see food until at least an hour into my reception and that was not even the worst of it.
The food finally arrives undercooked, dry, ZERO seasoning and lukewarm. I was horrified and fought back tears as I saw the disgust on my husbands face. I began to walk around the venue to survey everyone’s food and the looks were all the same. The red beans and rice were painful dry. The “blackened salmon” was boiled and dripping with water, the chicken was red on the inside and the skin was almost translucent. There were multiple items missing from the menus that we agreed on. I couldn’t believe what was happening. I was rescued only by the group of people who decided to go get fast food because of the “food” that this women served was disgusting.
I find this business and it’s owner Tanya, unprofessional, disrespectful and fraudulent. My family spent thousands of dollars on undercooked food that made several guests sick and Flavorless food that I wouldn’t dare put in my mouth again. When my mom decided to email this business about the food and her disappointment, Tanya took no responsibility. She make excuses and refused to acknowledge her terrible service.
I would not recommend this business for any large event. She is dishonest, disorganized and unapologetic for ruining the experience for myself and my guests. Tanya, I am honestly appalled and completely unsatisfied by your service. I hope my review will detour others and I hope that you learn your lesson and establish better business practices. Have the day that...
Read moreIt's a must that I add my review for Posh. I have used this Chef Service on 4 different occasions. The food and service was consistent with each one. The first time it was a dinner for two. The Calvin's set the mood with the whole setup in the room. The ambiance was perfect. All the food and their special little drink made that special night amazing! He could not stop talking about the food all week! So much so he wanted to have a birthday party, which he said he didn't want to have. This food changed his mind really quick. The next 2 months was the party at the house for 25 people. Again, great food and service. They bought their New Orleans style to the party which everyone thoroughly enjoyed! I think everyone there got the Calvin's information. The next time I gave them as a referral for a reception. My friend got married out of state and the couple wanted to share the moments of the wedding with their family and friends who could not attend. It was for a group of 75. Again, superb! At this event, I asked if she had ever done really big parties, specifically for about 200 people. She said absolutely. I didn't know how it would work out with the date being less than 2 months away. The last chef that was hired had to cancel due to staffing issues he had been having. He could not accommodate such a big group with only 3 people. Mrs. Calvin said she would call me the next day to let me know their availability. The next morning I got a call. They were available and told me not to worry about staff. She will be able to accommodate. The day came and they came through with everrrrrthing! Posh had something for everyone even those who said "they were on diets". AGAIN EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! Food cooked to perfection! Staff very professional and made sure we had everything we needed and wanted. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY USE THEIR SERVICE AGAIN AND YOU SHOULD TOO! As stated before, I went from 2 people to 200 people and the same great service and food!...
Read moreTerrible all around, and I only say this because this caterer is disrespectful by ignoring private and respectful emails about critiques and legitimate issues with their food beyond preference in taste. The food was bland. Honestly, bland is a kind adjective. One of our party goers suffered food poisoning for days from undercooked chicken. The fish was also unseasoned. The pasta and dip had no viscosity, it was just loose and liquid. The red beans and rice were unseasoned, almost watered down. The jambalaya lacked flavor. The servers were mixing serving utensils in different foods and worked with ungloved hands. There were few servers so stations weren’t being manned properly for efficiency. One of the main coordinators of the wedding tried to contact the caterer and keep it private, but this “vendor” won’t even answer emails. This caterer can’t cook for events with a large quantity of attendants. The bride is a foodie, and I hated to see the night of her dreams potentially ruined by bad food and a poor business. I wouldn’t want the same...
