Carolina Blue Crabs & Shrimps — Local services in Augusta

On August 31, 2023, I made a decision to try this place even though the reviews were up and down. I normally look at the reviews before trying a new place to eat. OMG!!!! I don't know who said don't let the outside deter you from going inside. Let it deter you. I would give this place about three negative stars if I could. There aren't any seafood places to eat in Grovetown. So I pulled into the parking lot and got out. I went in and I tried not to judge the book by its cover, but the outside is similar to the inside. I walked in and the first thing I see is this big fish tank with green murky water. I asked, " what's in that tank"? I was told nothing. I said you know that looks bad considering this is a place that sells seafood. So, reluctantly, I ordered a dozen steamed shrimp. I really wanted some shrimp. So while waiting I started looking around. This place has cob webs and flies. It looked the same as it did when it was a pawn shop; dusty and dirty. I found the Health Department's Sanitation Grade. It was hidden behind the sign that said mask required at all times per management on the right as soon as you walk in. Well there was no score on the paper. I've never seen that before. I now know why they didn't display their grade. So I got my shrimp. It smelled good. I got home and I was so upset. The shrimp was overcooked. The intestinal tract was not removed which left an enormous amount of unappetizing grit in my mouth which almost made me throw up. I can't believe anyone would write a review saying that this is an okay place to eat or get seafood. #NEVER AGAIN.

I recently ordered from here and was very disappointed. I placed and paid for my cooked order two days in advance and was told to call 15-20 minutes prior to when I wanted to pick my blue crabs up. I called on New Year's Eve at 5:09 and arrived at 5:20 and waited till after 6 for my order. This was the worst customer service experience ever! Because even when I voiced how frustrated I was over the long wait the male (cook/maybe owner)then proceeds to tell me that other customers were being taken care of. When in actuality it was only one person that had a cooked order before me that left 5 minutes after my arrival!! Yes people did come and go, but he didn't help them it was the lady and other guy. He(cook/maybe owner) was busy talking to the electrician and walking around aimlessly. And to top it all off my crabs were over cooked, and I know this because the meat was sticking to the inside...

Soooo today was my first time here and it’s still in the air if it’ll be my last. I’ll start with the fried shrimp. As you can see from the pictures, the entire breading came off. I’m from Savannah so seafood is what we do. If I do return, I will never order the fried shrimp again. Moving right along to the garlic butter shrimp. Just because you put a whole bunch of garlic out of a jar on top does not mean it is good. The shrimp were over cooked and flavorless, except for the big pieces of garlic of course. I guess you can say I saved the best for last. The garlic crabs were full thankfully but they also had garlic all over them and that’s all I tasted. Absolutely nothing was seasoned.
