I have done business with Howard's Appliance since 2006, bought eight appliances there since, however; BEWARE, this is NOT the same company that it was when Ms. Janice and Mr. Bill were there. I bought a stackable washer / dryer there 2006 - 2008, there was a defect in the washer, Ms. Janice sent Steve (Tech), he ordered the part, repaired the washer, Ms. Janice extended the warranty, never had issue with it. I recently purchased a new refrigerator, and a stackable washer / dryer. The dryer would run for a minute and shut off. Fred, delivery tech was sent out four days after delivery, did trouble shooting by phone with Frigidaire Tech, got dryer to run around twenty minutes, Fred said the dryer vent hose from back of dryer to outside vent had lint in it and this was causing the dryer not to operate. Dryer Vent was not checked when dryer was delivered or connected. I then had a professional Dryer Vent Cleaning company thoroughly clean the dryer vent and the technician noted that the dryer vent was not the issue, but the dryer itself had a defect to prevent the dryer from operating, as he disconnected the dryer from the vent and the dryer still would only run a minute then shut off. I then contacted Mr. Doug, the office manager at Howard's to relay that there was an issue with the dryer not operating, he was abrupt and told me that he would swap out the washer / dryer unit, however; if I had any issues with the second unit, that I would have to contact Frigidaire (one year warranty) directly for repair Howard's website states that they will repair anything and stand behind their product, which they DO NOT do. Once you purchase the appliance from Howard's, the warranty begins the day of purchase even if several days pass by before delivery, NO RETURNS or REFUNDS, even if the appliance does not work. Also, because I live upstairs, I was charged $425.00 delivery / installation fee. I only agreed to this because Fred was still there since 2006, he did a good job then with delivery and was given a generous tip since I live upstairs. Every time I had appliances delivered 2006 - 2008 (Fridge, Stove, Dishwasher, Washer, and Dryer) I gave a generous tip to delivery staff in addition to the reasonable delivery charge at that time. I am a repeat customer but NEVER again with this company. Fred and Chandler do a good job delivering appliances, except the dryer vent hose was not checked properly. Mr. Doug, manager is normally professional but currently is not allowed to make a decision without checking with the owner, as he is micro managed now. Mr. Doug was also there 2006 - 2008 when I purchased appliances previously and I had expected to have the same customer service experience as I had in the past at Howard's, however; this is not the same company as it was year's ago, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE and NO integrity! I have since registered my appliances with Frigidaire and was told that the model of the laundry unit that I purchased has experienced issues with the Dryer Circulation Board and that is why the dryer would shut off after a minute. Frigidaire noted that if I have any issues with my appliances, they have several local reputable appliance repair companies that will assist me...
Read moreWith all the positive reviews, I had no reservations when I decided to purchase a washer. The salesman reviewed store policy, along with the affirmation of their entire stock being cleansed and serviced prior to sale. In the event of a mechanical failure, a service technician would be dispatched to make the repair. After installing washer, I initiated a dry cycle to check it contents. I was gravely disturbed when I saw the enormous quantity of animal fur in the water. I immediately went and purchased items to assist with cleaning. I ran four complete cycles , it seemed there was no end to the pet fur. Monday morning, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the condition of the unit, I was informed the service tech would arrive Thursday to make the correction. I thought it could not get any worse; how wrong was I when a day off from work was wasted because the technician never arrived. No phone call to announce their absence, and no return call to acknowledge my calls. After calling the business on Friday, I was informed an after hour technician would pick the washer up that evening. The technicians were courteous and professional, the best part of the entire experience. When they removed the housing of the washer, I was floored at the condition of the unit. A quick repair turned into the washer not being available for an entire week. I picked the washer up Saturday morning, installed in the laundry room, initiated the wash cycle only to discover pet fur. The agitator was neglected; I removed and cleansed. The worse customer experience ever, no apology; not an acknowledgement for the inconvenience, or the expenses occurred.
PART 2 You have no recollection because you choose not. Howard's Appliance 1926 Broad St . Augusta. Your warehouse has Howard's Appliance embroidered in red letters and the color of the building is a shade of blue. Should I resolve to calling names? The account is in my spouse's name. Should I attach a receipt with this review. Correct you have an African American technician, but a caucasian assistant came with him in a small box truck that is in desperate need of repair The sales guy was a short caucasian male with a baird that's all white, I can name him if you like. When you walk into your establishment, you have two ammunition cases to left of the entrance. What do I have to gain by fabricating these events. After two weeks of going back and forth, I resolved to pickup the washer to observe it in store. I backed my vehicle up to your dock and the caucasian guy who was offloading used units from a box truck immediately acknowledged he remembered us and assured us the unit was correct because he cleansed it himself. Now the error was made, the correct act would be to acknowledge your error and initiate a corrective measure. Had your team taken initiative, this review would not happen. I typically don't leave reviews but the condition of the washer was horrific and the service did little to appease...
Read moreMy husband and I just moved into our first home together and a family friend had given us a fridge. We quickly learned it did not work right so we had to get another fridge and fast.
We came here and were greeted by a very friendly gentleman named Doug. I hate being bombarded in an appliance store by sales people so it was nice for Doug to be so friendly and casual. We didn't feel pressured at all to buy and when we told him what we were looking for and our budget (something cheap that is running), he was happy to show us just what we wanted, and for a great price!
Doug setup a delivery for us on a day that was convenient to us. On the day of the delivery, we were given a call to let us know the delivery was on it's way and they arrived within 30 minutes (which was great, no sitting around the house twiddling our thumbs waiting for the delivery driver). Regretfully I did not get our delivery person's name, but he was a very friendly and courteous man and he worked FAST. He had our old fridge out and the new one in in about 10 minutes! I was so thankful that they made this process so easy.
Oh, and they ran the fridge all day the day before so it was already cold and ready to be used when it arrived! I was prepared with a cooler and ice for our food because I thought the fridge would take a day or so to get down to temperature but I didn't even need all of that! The 60 day warranty also puts my mind at ease for buying a used appliance. I will always recommend this place to my friends and always...
