I've been going to Schaefer's for years. Yes, they are a bit higher priced than the big box stores; and there is a reason for that. The big box places can command lower prices because they are buying for multiple locations (ie; Walmart, Home Depot....) while Schaefer's grows their flowers and takes great care in making sure the flowers and tree's are taken care of the way they are supposed too be. I just ordered a couple of wrist corsages for a daddy/daughter dance and will gladly pay $5 more for each piece just to support a family owned, local business. I hear people complain about big box stores taking over neighborhoods but aren't willing to shop at a local store that has better quality flowers, and supports a family. I obviously don't know the numbers behind it but I'd be willing to bet they are profiting about the same as a Home Depot. And have you ever been to this place at Christmas and looked out at all the poinsettias? It takes a lot of man power to keep those plants looking great. And At their own cost they bring in Mr. & Mrs. Claus for your own free pictures. I've stood in line for 2 hours some years just to see most people leave without buying a single item. It would break my heart to see this place go out of business; so please consider them (Even if you have to spend a few extra dollars) when buying flowers or plants. And when you get your free picture with Santa (That would cost $20 at the mall) maybe buy an ornament or 2 each year. I can't speak about the customer service because I've never been treated with nothing but courtesy while there. I would just say that it is impossible to know what any single person is going through; the person that gave you poor customer service may be having an extremely bad day and unfortunately took it out on you. I'm sure given another chance they would do things differently. I'll say it again - please support locally owned businesses when you can - it's good for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have ordered flowers from Schaefer a few times now and Iāve consistently been blown away. The employees that answered the phone each time were kind, courteous and truly listened to my requests. Most recently, I ordered funeral flowers for my beloved father. To say he meant the world to me is an understatement. Needless to say, the flower arrangements were incredibly important to my family and I.
I talked to Maryanne on the phone and she diligently listened to me explain my vision. She was so polite and I truly felt listened to. She made the process easy, in an otherwise difficult situation. She even made sure the flowers could be picked up very early in the morning (before store hours) so that the arrangements would be fresh. My family and I truly appreciated this. I never felt rushed, but rather, understood.
In addition, they created absolutely beautiful arrangements that my father would have loved. They looked the way I pictured them in my head and it meant a lot to me, so I wanted to express my sincere gratitude. I plan on being a dedicated customer and it is my hope that my next order is for a more joyous occasion.
I highly recommend Schaefer for their patience, kindness, skill, attention to detail and beautiful...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friend and I were there to look at boutonnieres. We had never gone flower shopping before and were quite excited. This was the worst experience. I can not explain how rude the staff was to us. They laughed at us (not with us but at us) because we didn't know what we exactly looking for and were quite curt. A b-word comes to mind for the full attitude we received from the lady helping us. It was horrible. The lady eventually ended up yelling at us instead trying to be helpful. Needless to say, we left without buying anything and I will never return to that store. Absolutely the worst customer service experience ever.
The local grocery store was very happy help us and we had a much better customer experience. I'm completely flabbergasted that we had a better experience shopping at the grocery store than a flower shop. So if you need flowers for a special occasion, skip this store and just go to Jewel.
Horrible,...
