Spontaneous adventure today! We haven’t been here in 20 years! Even though it’s only 7 miles from home, we just don’t think about it! Well, haven’t. We will now! We back to open space but sometimes it’s nice to see and walk a different path. And pretty flat paths at that! The Nature Center itself is small but nice. We chatted with David quite a bit and learned about Colorado’s tarantulas, what?! and put to rest some urban myths about rattlesnakes vs bull snakes. Both of which we have seen in our yard and neighborhood. Good information👍 We are currently sitting on a bench in view of the Nature Center, enjoying this incredible weather. We just saw a very healthy looking coyote who seemed to be quite interested and completely unafraid of us, as our metro coyotes tend to be. We saw the beaver dam but no beavers. It’s just quite the peaceful place really. You can hear traffic if you listen and the occasional train horn but there is also birdsong and children calling out and laughing. What a great place! We are certainly glad to be...

This Nature Center is completely FREE! It has so many displays, interactive toys, nature books, and live animals (snake, turtle, and a lizard!) It is so wonderful!!!! If you are wanting to enjoy the inside portion of the center (and let me tell you, you do!), you should note their summer hours: Monday & Tuesday: CLOSED Wednesday-Friday: noon-4:30pm Saturday & Sunday: 9am-4:30pm

ALSO, they do two kid hours every Thursday morning! 9:30-10:30 & 11-12 This program is different every Thursday. It is centered on a letter of the alphabet and usually includes puppets, interactive activities, singing, and discovery time...

Been coming here since I was a kid. Great place to walk around and get some exercise. This also happens to be the first place I saw two organisms reproduce, and understood what I was seeing. The deer have quite the fun time here during the rut. I also learned that bull snakes do not infact keep rattle snakes away (they hibernate in the same winter burrows together apparently) and that some snakes still have nubs on their sides left over from the legs of ancient ancestors. The staff at the Morrison Nature Center does a great job having fun, informative activities with kids who come for summer programs or...

Thank goodness for places for kids that open at 9 on Sundays. We had the Morrison Nature Center and Wetland Loop Trail all to ourselves! Check out their schedule for classes and events. 📍16002 E Smith Rd., Aurora, CO 80011 #denver #colorado #nature #hike #fyp #kidsoftiktok
