Let me start by saying this guy is super nice. Has a great personality. and when i had problems he answered the phone quickly and tried to resolve the issue. I asked him to install a set of 10 speakers in my doors, and he told me that he should install an amplifier. I told him that I had spoken to 3 other shops about this, and they all said to use the stock 600WRMS amplifier for the car and not to wire in a separate amplifier because of the complexity of the electronics in a 2023 Land Rover. He reiterated that those other shops did not know what they were talking about. The work was done in a few days, and upon receiving my car, he had mounted the amp to the back seat of the 3rd row, not hidden away, and wires were trailing outside the door between the 6.5' and the tweeter. He told me that he did that because he was afraid the window could break a wire once he connected the tweet to the 6.5. I complained and said that it looked terrible, and with the amp mounted on the rear seat, I couldn't haul cargo. He said no problem, and I stuck around as he routed the components inside the body. He quoted me $1000 for the installation, and on pickup, he asked for $1200 because he had to add parts. I thought No problem. He also did not install the mid speakers because he said the impedance didn't match, which is fair. I wish he had told me so I could have brought the right speakers to complete the full installation. Because of the new 4 channel amp i lost access to 10 of the 18 speakers in the car. A few days later, my car started throwing charging and accessory codes. I took it back to him and after securing a few wires he said the issue should be fixed. The codes kept coming up, and i took it to the dealership. The dealership basically said I could add another battery to the amp, at an additional $256, which might fix the problem, but if i did not revert back to the factory amp any long-term damage to the electronics would void my warranty. The defender voltage cannot vary at all because of its hybrid charging system. It is not a hybrid but the charging circuit has a V margin of 0. He suggested I install a small amplifier to replace the 1000W amp he had installed, saying that the smaller draw would resolve the issue. Keep in mind the Pyle amp he wanted to install was smaller than my factory AMP. I instead asked that he remove the amp he installed and use the factory amp, and he said it would be more work than what he had done the first time. It was clear he didn't want to do it. I instead took it to a few shops around town, asking for advice. They concluded that the factory amp was more than strong enough to drive all the speakers in the car and should have been used by default. While they were removing his work, they sent me a ton of pictures of the installation. He removed bolts from the seat and failed to replace them. I'm referring to two of the four bolts that secure the seat to the frame. He left the pillar with the seatbelt restraint unsecured. One of my handles was missing one of the two bolts, so the handle was not attached. He didn't replace the anchor bolts that he had removed in the back cargo area. He drilled the amp directly to the factory heating vent under the seat. The battery cable was run in between the floor cover and the body so the foot rest was pinching the connection. Basically anytime someone was in the backseat their feet would be pinching the wire between the foot rest and the body. I ended up paying the other company $1,200 to enable the factory amp and install mid speakers that would match the impedance of the amplifier. So, all in all, I spent $2,400 to install 10 door speakers (excluding the cost of the actual speakers). I will say that I never asked for a refund or any compensation from him. At this point, he did the work, and he did it to the best of his ability. This is an honest review of my experience. I just took it somewhere else to have it done correctly and paid double what it should have cost initially because I had the...
Read moreI had an amazing experience working with Mike at Safe and Sound Auto. I originally bought a new stereo and speakers for my Mustang, and even though I thought everything would work perfectly, it didn’t sound quite right at first. Mike spent hours setting everything up and helping me figure out exactly what I needed, even down to the correct stereo model. You can tell sound just comes naturally to him. He doesn’t need instructions because he is the instruction manual, it’s all in his head. His passion and skill are unmatched. When I got the right stereo, Mike told me he would reinstall it for free, and he kept his word. On top of that, he even fixed my door panel and added LED lights at no charge. His kindness and respect made the whole experience feel like home. He worked nonstop, kept everything clean, and somehow left my car looking even better on the inside than when I brought it in. I highly recommend Safe and Sound Auto to anyone looking to take their sound system and their whole driving experience to...
Read moreMike did an absolutely amazing job helping me install a subwoofer in my SUV. From start to finish, he was professional, knowledgeable, and super efficient. He took the time to make sure everything was installed perfectly, and the sound quality now is incredible. You can tell he really knows what he’s doing and takes pride in his work and more importantly, he wont price gouge you like the rest of the other shops around. On top of that, he was friendly and explained things clearly along the way. I couldn’t be happier with the results. If you need any audio work done on your car, Mike is definitely the person to go to....
