Lossing's Power Sports — Local services in Babbitt

Wow!! We rented a 4-Seater for two full days this past weekend to go explore the trails and what an awesome experience. The staff was beyond kind with answering all of my questions over the phone leading up to our rental and were awesome to work with in person as well. Be it our luck on day two we came out of our hotel in Ely with a flat tire but a quick call and help was on the way (Huge thank you to Brandon)! It's not what either of us wanted to do on our Sunday but he was so kind and quick to get us back in action (well back to the store to turn her in - ha!). Needless to say we got to have a little fun before the day was over so it made for an interesting story nonetheless. Could have been stuck on a trail with no cell service with a flat so we were pretty thankful for where it happened. It was my husband's first time riding a UTV and honestly was my test trial to hopefully convince him to buy one. Even with living in the Twin Cities we'd definitely come here for our purchase as the service was top notch! I love that they offer helmet rentals as well (and go up to a size 4XL). You can't go wrong for the price either ($15)!! We bought some gloves and goggles ahead of time that worked beautifully. The only semi-downfall, and I hate to even call it that, is that they don't offer insurance options for their rentals. I know it would be a huge cost on their end and can appreciate that, but would be cool just for a bit more peace of mind. Realistically, we drove it like we owned it so took good care but it's all the others on the trails that make a girl nervous. The one major bonus that outweighs this though is not having a few thousand dollar deposit to rent like a lot of places require. Not everyone has $3,000+ they can tie up in a hold for a day rental so we SO appreciated that aspect. Really hard to find these days so huge THANK YOU to Lossings!! I read a number of other reviews and it sounds like if you don't have issues on the trail then this might be a good place to rent from. Unfortunately this was not our experience. We were really close to the end of the trail when we got a flat tire. We called the rental shop and let them know where we were and they said they would send some one out. there was no cell service so communication was hard, but we did find reception about a 1/4 mile from where we parked. About every half hour I walked back and called the shop to see if they needed more info on where we were or if someone was coming. We were 12 miles from the shop and after an hour and a half of being eaten alive by mosquitoes and horse fly's or deer fly's or whatever they were, some really awesome people came along and gave us bug spray and patched our tire and pumped it up. And then just as were pulling out someone from lossing's pulls up. I understand these things happen and they have no control over a tire going flat, but an hour and a half to come 12 miles seems a little excessive, especially when im calling asking if they need more info on my location, So we get back with no help from lossings, we're covered in mosquito bites, our schedule is now way off, and the first thing anyone can say to us is, did you guys buy the gas option, otherwise you need to go fill it up. I guess i would have expected maybe a "Sorry we left you hanging so long, don't worry about the gas" or some sort of apology or anything really. Our group of 8 rented snowmobiles from Lossing’s Power Sports in Babbitt, MN, and it was a flawless experience from start to finish! The team was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They went above and beyond to ensure we were set up with the best machines for our skill levels and riding plans.

The snowmobiles were in excellent condition, powerful, and well-maintained, making for a thrilling ride through the beautiful trails around Babbitt. The staff provided clear instructions on operating the machines safely and gave us great tips for local routes.

We couldn’t have asked for better customer service or equipment. It’s clear that the team at Lossing’s takes pride in their business and genuinely cares about their customers. If you’re looking for an unforgettable snowmobiling adventure, this is the place to go.
