Dollar General — Local services in Baileyton

Me and my husband needed to buy a few groceries so we loaded our very hyper and handsy 4 year old child and went to this store. We got our items and waited in line for about 10 minutes (there was only one cashier so we understand) when we got to the register we quickly put the items on the counter without paying attention. The total was $90 me and my husband looked at each other and exited the store. Once we got home (not even three minutes away) we noticed silly things in the bags (things we did not need) I told my husband I would run back to the store and return the items. The items were tooth brushes (they looked like hair brushes they were so big) then popcorn (we do not allow popcorn because our children are very small and get chocked on the popcorn), a toy that my son threw down and was not interested in (we bought him a toy that actually made nosie that he loves) and toothpaste that we do not USE, and baby wipes. When I got to the register the cashier looked disgusted and asked why for the return. I explained the issue and offered the people behind me to go first. She continued with the looks and sacarasm. I then asked if there was an issue with returning the items she then proceededs to embarrass me stating me and my husband threw the items on the counter so now what's the issue. I then explained we waited in line for a few minutes and there was quite a bit of people behind us so we were rushing. She then picks up a toy car that does ABSOLUTELY nothing and embarrassed me saying your returning your son's toy. Now at this pii t I was embarrassed, tired, and beyond my point of patience. She then asks like I have an attitude and tells me she's the manager and I can leave the store. WHICH WAS FINE she then says she is doing the return and I needed my card I used which was fine. It took her over 15 minutes for a handful of items. When I left the store I was in tears and will be contacting corporate and not returning to this store. Definitely don't get a job you...

Very easy "in and out" store for quick shopping trips between large grocery store or walmart trips. Pretty good variety of items and fair prices. Only complaint- if you load money onto a prepaid card here, it takes anywhere from 15 to 30 mins for it to actually post to your balance. Not a huge deal but has been a hassle for me more than once when I need to make a quick online purchase. Overall though, I like shopping at this chain. It is frustrating going to this store in Baileyton. I shop here often. I spend lots of money at this location. I would Spend lots more if I had more money. This store is way to busy to have only one cafh register .plus if course it needs more employees, inclyding stockers/ cleaners. The store is a mess and has needed work for a long time. Corporate needs to make some surprise visits. It is obvious distrii management is not making sure everything is well at this location. The cashier are great. Does this site have a manager?
