Z and his team at the Liquidation Center in Bakersfield were really amazing at helping me find exactly what I needed for my new home. Right when I arrived and with every visit I made, someone was there to help me find what I was looking for or at least something close to it. They have a great variety of items and excellent quality inventory. It seems most of their inventory are from reputable name brands like Costco and Ashley furniture, so quality is almost certainly guaranteed. I am very indecisive and also very picky when it comes to purchases, and I often base my purchases on cost, doing extensive research online trying to find "good deals". It was a pleasant surprise that I didnât have to put much work into finding these "good deals" at the Liquidation Center, every purchase was such a bargain and without sacrificing quality. It was also an added bonus that Z helped me every step of the way, making me feel what a "valued customer" actually means. He personally helped me find my furniture and was so patient when I couldn't exactly describe what I was looking for. He gave me great advice in purchasing appliances even when I had found items in other stores. Payment was a breeze and delivery was the fastest service I had every experienced. The guys delivered all my furniture with so much care and assembled everything so efficiently, it was seriously impressive. They even helped me rearrange them the way I wanted. I ended up purchasing a beautiful couch, high-end refrigerator, dresser and two nightstands from these guys and am so in love with all my purchases. They have the best deals in town and I can't recommend them enough. I will be coming back for more...

I was assisted by someone who helped me sort through several light fixturesâonly for it to become clear that many of their products had been left outside in the rain and were completely soaked. Despite that, I chose to continue supporting the business, hoping to be treated with respect and fairness.
Unfortunately, what followed confirmed that discrimination is very much alive in this establishment.
As I approached the register, I overheard a conversation between the cashier and another customer regarding ordering and discounts. The woman ahead of me was told that her discount was based on the amount she was spending. When I inquired about a discountâespecially considering the water-damaged merchandiseâI was immediately shut down. The cashier insisted that his prices were firm and âthe best in town,â offering no flexibility or acknowledgment of the condition of the items.
Despite the unfair treatment, I completed my purchaseânot out of necessity, but as a gesture of grace. I wanted to give them a chance, hoping they might realize I was fully aware of the subtle yet unmistakable profiling taking place.
I would not recommend this business to anyone who values being treated with dignity and respect. If you are a customer of a different background or nationality, be prepared to feel dismissed and looked down on.

I visited Liquidation Center Bakersfield on 6/26/25 around 3 PM. I wasnât greeted when I walked in, and the two men working seemed too busy talking to each other to help me.
I noticed two identical air fryers with two different prices: one for $139 and one for $49.99. When I asked the price, the man behind the counter rudely said, âWhat does it say?â I gave both prices, and he confirmed it was $49.99.
I finally decided what I wanted and called over to the man to let him know I needed help. I waited a few minutes, but he never came. When I turned back around, he and the other man were still in conversation. Then, he sarcastically said, âWhat do you need?â I told him I couldnât get the box down â it was too high. His attitude was so rude that I just said, âYou know what, never mind.â I decided to leave the store. As I walked out, he shouted âHave a nice day!â in a very nasty tone. His behavior showed a complete lack of professionalism and basic customer service.
