Arkansas Traveler Hobbies is a rare gem. Situated in a historic depot along the old Mopac mainline through Bald Knob is a quaint little combination model railroad shop and rail museum. The owner doubles as both shopkeeper and a resident historian for the region. It's an interesting place to visit, even if you are not into model railroads.
As for what the shop carries for model trains, it's mainly O scale with some HO and other scales as a secondary focus. Since my scale of interest is O, it works great for me. Most of the merchandise is pre-owned, coming from estate sales and close-out inventories from other failed shops, with a few newly produced items scattered about. It's a long drive for me, but I try to get there 2-3 times a year.
