Challenging to compose a cohesive review to completely capture what this outfit is. I went to Sitka this past week with the mindset of seeing it once in my lifetime, spending a few quality days with my parents, and maybe catching some fish. Because of my experience with Kain’s, I cannot wait to get back!

Thinking linearly…it begins at the top with Michelle and Greg. These two have built the foundation/set the tone for how everyone in this company will treat you. And that will be with kindness, excitement, humility, expertise, and genuine connection. Also, it deserves mention to point out how organized the daily schedule is—lending to an experience where you will always be busy. Speaking of the schedule, the intentional time to get to know and converse with the other clients was fun/engaging.

All of the above and I haven’t even spoken about the food, lodging, and/or the fishing. The food…simply awesome! Breakfast was great, the lunch made by our boat captain was great, and the dinners were outstanding! The lodge is clean, spacious, homey, and relaxing. Now for the fishing. Just unreal! Once you arrive at the dock on your first morning, you immediately notice that Kain’s cares about having excellent boats/gear. The same can be said for how they process/package your fish for the way back home.

And for me…rising to the top of all these accolades was our captain (Jacob) and our deckhand (JJ). These guys love what they do, are extremely knowledgeable/skilled, positive, hardworking, team-oriented, hilarious, and located/helped us catch a BOATLOAD of fish! My parents and I will be forever grateful for how they treated and looked after us while at the same time inspiring us to really love/appreciate our experience...

EXCELLENT EXECUTION! We have been fishing in Alaska for over 15 years and KAIN’S is by FAR the best operation we have ever experienced. From the moment you arrive in Sitka every little detail is taken care of for you. Like most high end fishing services Kain’s puts you on fish every day/all day however, what separates Kain’s from the rest is their meticulous attention to details. Your captain and deck hand will have your boat ready ( clean, organized, fishing gear set up and lots of bait) with their plan in place to put you on fish when you arrive at the dock every morning. Your fish is cleaned, filleted, cut into serving sizes, vacuum sealed, labeled, flash frozen, boxed and waiting for you at the airport for your flight check in. The lodge is super spacious, very clean and comfortable with daily meal menus prepared by an excellent chef. The staff…. an amazing team that makes your experience one not to forget. Approximately 50% of the guest during our trip were repeated customers…. we can see why and will be in that statistic next time we fish in Sitka. Kain’s is the must if you want to...

I’ve always wanted to visit Alaska to go fishing, and when I finally did, it turned out to be the best fishing trip of my life.

Captain Garrett and his deckhand, Auggie, were absolutely incredible. They put us on fish every single day—including some real trophy catches. They struck the perfect balance of professionalism and fun, making the entire experience unforgettable. If you get the chance to request them, I highly recommend it.

The accommodations and food were five stars across the board. Every meal was outstanding, and after a long day on the water, returning to a spotless room was such a treat. The staff went above and beyond to make sure any request outside the usual process was taken care of without hesitation.
