10/2024 - Another two days in our booth with perfect weather. Many thanks to so many participants. I'm updating this review to showcase our regular providers who deliver excellent food with a wide variety of fair favorites, from lobster rolls to fried fish and chips, clam chowder to chili, egg sandwiches to hamburgers, onion rings to loaded fries, apple fritters and cotton candy. # 10/2023 - Spending two days in a booth this predicted rainy but cloudy to sunny weekend was another reminder of how homey this fair is, and the way it resonates throughout the event with a friendly relaxing vibe. Due to weather predictions for Saturday that failed, more people came on Sunday when there was mostly sunshine. Friday night was also busy as the usual locals night. Food trucks, rides, carnival games, live animal venues and goods for sale had decent attendance. # Beautiful rural fair held annually at the end of the first week of October so the foliage is still very colorful. Food trucks with smoked turkey legs, lobster rolls, bread bowls with clam chowder, onion blossoms and more fun treats. Rides for kids including a giant slide and carousel. Ox and tractor pulls plus barns with blue ribbon chickens and rabbits. Live music. Pie eating contest. Crafts and locally made foods like jam and honey. Great for families, teens, young and old. Someone from West Hartford visiting here for the first time this year, 2022, a sunny warm weekend, wrote me "This is God's country." One small part of our beautiful Earth.

Total disappointment, waste of time & waste of $8 spent on the entry free. They should've been paying people to enter, lol. There were barely any vendors (food or craft), only a few rides & games for the little ones, and unfortunately, the "competition" barns were pretty lame (a handful, if that, of entries in many categories). This fair used to be looked forward to, being it's the last fair of the year. Personally, I I prefer the Terryville Fair & if you haven't been, go. Riverton Fair, huge letdown...

Want to leave a 5 star but can't forget how rude the traffic director was. He was yelling at all of those leaving the fair, including myself, but I was confused why he was so angry as there were only about 8 cars pulling out of the parking lot. We were all more than capable of leaving the fair in a single...
