Riverton General Store — Restaurant in Barkhamsted

I thought this would be a great quaint spot to enjoy a quick bite of breakfast/Brunch and a coffee. Clearly 🤩 There are tables inside and in a shady courtyard. Before an adventure with my Lilttle crew of retired ladies into our Blessed natural bliss to share a day together with long time friends There is no bathroom available to the public which truly leaves you with no options.

This policy is inhumane as far as I’m concerned. It’s quite concerning for those with digestive issues . The fabulous person I speak of is 68 and very kind , sweet and a Grandmother Wondering if it is legal to run a diner with seating etc with no public rest room. So just beware as this policy can truly ruin your day and be extremely embarrassing 😳

For those believing they will find common courtesy with there meal , you may want to bipass your journey thru these doors.

Maybe it’s better for a to go place? The Management is definitely off at this establishment ! It’s a bit confusing because of all the tables I mean multiple tables Inside and out so. I won’t ever be spending a dime here again.

All the snacks, drinks and baked goods you could ask for from a classic New England general store with an exceptional deli counter and ice cream that's a notch above the rest. They have pretty standard coffee (drip/batch brewed) nothing spectacular but perfectly fine to accompany their fresh pies and desserts.

The outside seating is spacious and shaded inside is mostly bar seating by the windows and a small table.

This is a regular stop for me on any bike ride in and out of the Berkshires. Just be prepared to walk around in your socks if you have clip-shoes because they don't allow cycling cleats in...

This is a really nice place for lunch and a great scenic location! Sandwiches are so delicious and tasty! Normally we would give it a five star rating and usually the staff are EXTREMELY COURTEOUS and friendly, but the lady, behind the counter was extremely rude and unpleasant, not only to me but also to another customer, which I observed the interaction with! There was no reason why I should have been subjected to this treatment??? I was taken aback. Not the friendly service and interaction we have normally received at this store! ...
