LIARS AND THIEVES! In February of 2017 I called Higgins to purchase an extended Polaris warranty for my 2017 XP1K. I spoke to a lady named Jen and told her that I wanted to purchase a 2 year extended Polaris Total Protection warranty. After talking via phone and text all information was given and the warranty was paid for. I was told to pick up my paperwork next time I came in.
Fast forward to May 2018 I bring my RZR into another dealership to get a front diff noise looked at. They call and inform me that when they ran my VIN # it’s showing no extended warranty exist for my machine. I call Higgins to figure out what is going on right away since they were who I bought the warranty through and I was trying to get my machine back together for my upcoming bachelor party trip. So I call Higgins, get a guy in service, explain the story to him and he says “oh man, yeah Jen no longer works here because of problems like this. She almost made this place go out of business” GREAT! He then puts Chris Higgins on the phone, I tell him the entire story and he says I’ll look into it and call you back before the end of the day. End of the day comes,no call back. I call the next morning, and get “Chris had just stepped out for a minute I’ll have him call you right back”go figure right? Again I don’t get a call back all Saturday. I call back Saturday afternoon, get chris who says the secretary is looking into it and I need to talk to her but she is now gone for the day and to call Monday. I then get jerked around for 3+ more days, not getting calls returned and what not before I finally get a hold of the secretary who tells me that she is waiting to hear from Polaris. This has now been a week since I first called Higgins trying to figure out where my money went and why no warranty was applied to my vehicle. So I decide to call Polaris direct on my own. After explaining it all to Polaris they call Higgins to get to the bottom of this. A couple hours later Jeremy from Polaris calls me back saying that Polaris themselves have applied a 5 year warranty to my RZR at no cost to me and that Higgins was to return my $900 right away. At this point my machine will not be fixed in time for my bachelor party trip so I now had to spend $652.11 on a rental.
On Friday June 1st the secretary calls to tell me they will be mailing a check reimbursing me the $900 I gave them in Feb 2017 (that they did nothing with) so I say I want them to pay for my rental expense to because this whole problem wasn’t my fault and she says “you will have to talk to Chris about that”So I try calling Chris, of course he doesn’t answer or return my call, so I call again, I’m told he has left for the day and he would call me Saturday. Saturday comes and goes. No call back. Finally Monday the 4th I call and get a hold of him. I tell him I want them to pay for my rental since this whole ordeal happened due to their lack of processing my warranty which caused my machine not to be fixed in time to which he says “ok” so I fax him over a copy of my recite for it. 2 weeks later the on 18th still no check, I call the secretary and Chris, leave them both voicemails on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, no call back. I call the sales line Wednesday afternoon, sure enough Chris answers that line. He claims my check was mailed out on the 18th and was very short with me. Friday the 22nd I get my check, over 3 weeks after Polaris told them to return my money, open the envelope to find a check for the original $900 and no compensation for the rental I had to get because of their screw up!
I’ve made many attempts since to get in touch with Chris in regards to my rental compensation and have never gotten a call back. He’s a coward and a thief! If I hadn’t brought my machine in to get worked on they would have just pocketed my $900 and no one would have ever known. How many other people are out there that they have done this to? Polaris would pull their license for operating a...
Read moreI dropped my bike off for a rear brake job - bike is a custom FXR Boyce Frame, all Performance Machine, S&S motor nothing out of the ordinary.
They said nothing on intake that a custom bike was an issue for them etc. They also did not say it would take 5+ weeks to do a break job. Bottom line, took 5 weeks, they never apologized - just made excuses, all my fault since they don't work on customs generally (could have told me that from the start). And I had to call week after week to see where bike was - you don't get a person most of the time just voice mail (for a SERVICE dept??). And on top of that they charged me 3.5 hours just to change a rotor and pads at $89 a hour - thats a max 2-2.5 hour job if that. And that is what took 5 weeks? They could also have told me that it would take over a month to do a break job - then in that case I could have gone somewhere else and saved all this hassle...
In the end - my battery was bad also - I told them it was new and that I could return it as it was less than a year old and under warranty - again I had to leave a voice mail (I asked them to call me to discuss, twice, no call back). Finally I show up to just get the bike and it has the same battery that does not turn bike over, and I asked why they had not put in a new battery and they said they had some voice mail from me about the battery being under warranty - so they DID NOT PUT IN A NEW BATTERY - so after 5 weeks of waiting I cannot even ride the bike home I had to trailer it and then figure out on my own what I need for a new battery.
Just really poor customer service. I am new to the area so I wanted to try their service out before I bought the UTV and the 2 Four Wheelers I will need here. So needless to say I will NOT be buying anything from Higgins.
Just really poor overall - you would think that after all this they would have been a bit apologetic, but no they just blamed me for having a custom bike that was hard to work on etc and excuse after excuse - they had no interest in the fact that I was not happy - did not bother them one bit.
I will never recommend nor will I set foot in a Higgins owned business ever again.
Told my neighbor this story and he said oh yea that reminds me - I have had a four wheeler there for over a month now I need to call them!

Read moreI have been searching high and low for a used Can Am Spyder RT in my price range. When I called a few days ago and Mark answered the phone and said they still had one I was thrilled. He went on to tell me how unique the bike is because it has been to all lower 48 states and is in great shape. Since I live 2hrs away and rely on disability for my income I explained to Mark upfront that I wanted to negotiate over the phone a little. He was more than happy to help me. Then the next day I rode out check in hand (just in case) and took a test ride. Mark and Nick both made sure I was comfortable and familiar with the controls of a Spyder before I went for a spin. When I came back I looked over the bike a little more and was shocked by how good it looked for being all over the U.S. Only thing I found was a worn rear tire right near the limits and they were very happy to change it for me. So we closed the deal that day. I was brought to service where I met Ethan and he was super helpful as well. Ready to answer any technical questions I had about the Spyder. I came back the next day to pick up the bike after they mounted the tire and everyone greeted me again with just as much enthusiasm. It felt so good making a purchase and knowing the staff actually genuinely cared about me as a customer. I don't remember the last time I had an experience like that when buying a vehicle. I honestly would have all my service and parts from Higgins if I lived closer. But if I'm ever in the area I will be sure to stop by and update you guys on the latest adventures of where this Spyder has been. I'm so thrilled to finally have one that fits my budget. THANK YOU TO THE...
