I stopped by one rainy afternoon to see what was on the lot by way of a new Trailblazer or Trax. Stingray advertises no dealer fees which is huge. As an example, Jenkins Chevy in Venice has dealer fees, market based adjustments, and mandatory add-ons which adds $6-10,000 to the manufacturer MSRP window sticker - the market based adjustment on a Corvette is $19,995. I met a vehicle salesman by the name of Damian. He literally changed the way I look at vehicle salesman, especially after visiting several other relatively shady Chevy dealers from Venice to Lakeland, as well as Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram lots (but NO Ford lots!). Our first deal didn't work out, kind of late into Christmas Eve, because it wasn't as amazing as I hoped it would be (a 2024 demo Trailblazer - the price wasn't bad, it was really more about the rate/term). I went home frustrated and gave myself a few weeks to think about it. I reached out to Damian, again, after our 2021 Silverado starting having engine problems (still under service contract) knowing we would be in a severe bind if it ended up in the shop for a couple weeks....or a month. He was just as accommodating as when I first met him even after the last deal fell apart. He was low key, low pressure...just nice and helpful. Because he was chill, we decided to spend a little more to get a 2025 Trax Activ. The entire staff is quite chill including the finance manager, sales manager, etc. And, because my local dealer did me really dirty on thw recall/service of our 2021 Silverado check engine light inspection, Stingray in Bartow earned our repair business as well. I am looking forward to future transactions with Stingray in Bartow...possibly an upgrade in our future for Big Red.

To say that I have even received any service would be an understatement. I had a local shop working on my Corvette only to find out that the rear struts on the car were so corroded that they would need to be warrantied. So I called the dealership and scheduled an appointment. The shop brought the struts down to the dealership. They were told that they were indeed corroded bad enough to be warrantied. However, the dealership said they couldn’t do anything without the struts being on the car. So then, the car gets dropped off on Monday 5/9/22. So they order the parts to replace. They remove the old parts and install the new parts. Then call the shop and tell them there is a crack in the driver side driveshaft boot. It does seem quite suspicious to wait until everything is done (sounds like it happened while removing old parts and installing new parts). They then follow it up by trying to give a quote of about $1300 to replace this part because of some supposed special tool that was need. I just find it hard to believe that if the grease or oil was flowing like in the picture below, that the whole area wouldn’t be covered in it, had three happened earlier. To top things off, I still haven’t even been told by the dealership yet.

We took our 2016 Silverado for a oil change and tire rotation. We went to Walmart after the oil change. Up on closing the front passenger door The rear passenger window disappeared into the door housing. Upon inspection my mechanic discovered the plastic grid was completely fractured. He told me he had never seen this before and he's changed dozens he said it would have taken tremendous amount of force to fracture the plastic honeycomb grid normally the cable or pulley is the issue. I have a hard time believing that just closing the front door would cause the rear window to fracture so violently never had issues before that window is used the least of any of the windows My wife is the only one that drives the vehicle she went around to the passenger side when she arrived at Walmart to retrieve her purse when she closed the door the window slid down inside. Something had to have been done at the dealership and covered up I have pictures and I have the part if stingray Chevrolet Bartow is interested in what happened I would love to talk to them

Once again, I must edit my post. After all is said and done, I would recommend that people not use Stingray Chevrolet of Bartow.

For those that don't want to read everything: While I love the truck I bought from them, its an amazing truck, if I knew what I know now, I would have NEVER gone to Stingray Chevrolet of Bartow to even give myself the change of falling in love with something so I wouldn't have ever had to deal with all this. I recommend everyone to go elsewhere.

Things that happened to me:

  1. I was specific about wanting to see trucks under a certain sale. They showed me three trucks. Ended up that only one of them was on the sale. Of course the one I wanted, wasn't on the sale.
  2. While in their office, I found another truck, a used truck, I was willing to buy at the price listed on website. Ohh, that truck also has been sent out and modified, it cost more. Just haven't updated the website yet.
  3. I left, I told them what number I would be happy with. The number was based on what I know my credit to be, and what the price of the truck should be after showing me it as a 'sale' truck.
  4. Post negative review on Google.
  5. Week later, get a phone call, we will meet your number, come in.
  6. Get there, and I realize that they didn't lower the truck price like they should have done, they just got me into a really good deal with Chevy financing for 2%. Sure, in the end I'm paying what I wanted to pay for the truck, but the dealership took no fault in the bait and switch they preformed on me. This still feels very dishonest to me. In the end, I love the truck, so I went with it.
  7. Guys says hes the owner of dealership, and tells me I got my review all wrong, and that he needs me to change it. I felt bullied, and so I did. But I bothered me, especially as more and more has gone wrong.
  8. I moved my tag from my car to the truck, it had registration until Sept 2016. I get the new registration and it has a sticker saying that the tag now expires in Dec 2015. 9 months of lost registration.
  9. I call Stingray to find out whats up. Leave message for **. Never got a return phone call.
  10. However, I did get a phone call from Bartow saying they messed up on getting my VIN off of one of the vehicles I traded in. That they were overnighting a package to me to sign and get back to the office as soon as possible. I see how this works. I need something from them post sale, and I don't get returned phone calls. They need something and the world stops.
  11. Called back the Plant City office, where all the registration work is done. This time I get ahold of *. She tells me, that I bought a heavy truck, means my registration is up in Dec. and that I lose all the registration for September. No empathy whatsoever. When I asked about getting a credit for the unused registration, which I was told this by the actual company they use to do their title work, she said she has never heard of that and there isn't anything she can do. So that's it. Done deal. I told her how displeased my experience was with buying this truck, and she did not care, I got the fake sorry, and there isn't much she can do about it response.

So here I am, updating this post. This experience was miserable. This is why car dealerships get such a bad rep. If they had just been honest from the beginning, sure, I would not be in the truck I have now, but I would have still bought one, one of the ones on sales. Oh wait, maybe that's why they use these tactics, and I...

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Where to begin... So I purchased a used Chevy truck from this dealership. I received terrible interests rates from start (mind you having good credit along with a co-signer who had good credit & money to put down). But I liked the particular truck and needed a vehicle ASAP. We were talked down to by the finance director, RICK DUBOSE who had a poor attitude and non-existent professionalism. Along with the used car manager, KENNY LOPEZ who was the "salesman". An incompetent individual who only cared about making a quick easy sale. Fast-forward...I notice issues with the A/C from the beginning but seemed minor in nature at first, thought possibly a freon issue. Plus it was winter time when I purchased the truck so no real need for A/C then right. I also begin to notice issues with the transmission. So I take it back to the dealership to diagnose the issue in which they try and tell me it will be over $300 just to examine the A/C as well as over $200 to examine the transmission. Laughable right. I explain I'm not paying that as it was there product on their lot and that's how they sold it to me. Yes it's a used truck but this isn't a buy here pay here used car lot. To my knowledge this is a New and Certified pre-owned brand named dealership. So we come to an agreement that I wouldn't have to pay the made-up ridiculous fees, that they would examine it and we'd go from there. After multiple trips to the service center (3 to be exact), mind you just to diagnose/examine the A/C and the transmission. I had to take days off of work to get this fixed. Then when dealing with the inept service advisors, I'd drop the truck of all day and get no progress updates unless I called and when I did I was told how they were on lunch break. If I wouldn't have asked what was being done or for the prices of the mechanical work they would have authorized the service to be done without my knowledge at outrageous rates. They finally fix the A/C but couldn't identify the transmission issues in that it slips from time to time. Throughout all of this I never received a check up from any of the Managers, Owner, Salesman, nobody. It's baffling how my wife who is a nurse and me being a cop in Polk county who both serve the community get treated in such a manner. They will never get our business again, and I've made sure to tell everybody I know not to due business here. I thought the sleezy car sales days were done but apparently not here, they are in full force! It's a take it or leave it kind of dealership that will one day...

Took my vehicle into the service department to get a noise in the rear checked out. I was emailed by Mark Casey an estimate of $2100 for both rear wheel hub/bearings and new tires all the way around. I called him back saying that I didn’t need the tires at the moment but I needed to get the bearings/hubs replaced and told him I had extended warranty with Fidelity and he said he would give them a call. I asked him to please call me when he hears back from them. Didn’t hear back from him that day so I called the next morning for an update and he told me that they were waiting on parts and that they should arrive on Monday. Hearing that I assumed the warranty was going to proceed with covering it. Get a call on Monday morning saying it was ready for pick up so I leave work a little earlier and I’m met at the counter with a bill just slightly under $1100. I told them that I had warranty and asked why I was still having to pay and I was told to come back tomorrow to speak with Mark. Came in on Tuesday to find out that he called in but someone else was able to help me and turns out that they never submitted the warranty claim so they submitted it in that moment and about 20 minutes later it was denied, so I was told to pay the bill or they would just put the old parts back on. I asked to give me a break on the bill for the inconvenience and they just knocked a couple hundred dollars off. Very disappointed at the lack of communication and doing the job without sending it to the warranty company first or calling me letting me know how much I was going to have to pay before doing it otherwise I would have just paid the diag fee and brought it back another day to get the work done on it. Not to mention I had already brought it in a few months prior for that noise and I was told that it was the inner fender flap that was making that noise and I payed a diag fee that day as well just for that to have not been...
