Baptism River — Local services in Beaver Bay Township

I swam in the Baptism river with my parents, on a trip around the Lake in 1963...I was 11 and loved it ! I have a ]wonderful memory of walking down the trail to a peaceful late afternoon swim!! Dad and I loved to travel --- we were part fish and always found a place to swim! I returned with my Dad and my little girl again in 1985, on a trailer-trip around the Lake, but we couldn't get down to the river to swim that time. I always wanted to take my daughter and her 4 boys, and my younger daughter there but that never worked out either. I see that it is only about 10 hours from where I live now.... Pretty cool visit, amazing site, but somewhat misleading on the lengths of the walk, which didn't bother me, but some folks it very much could to have the walk actually being 1/3 mile or more than quoted from a "trailhead" that is well into the walk from the parking lot...people should know that...
