Illgen Falls — Local services in Beaver Bay Township

One of my favorite waterfalls on the North Shore, mostly due to accessibility (short walk from limited parking on Highway 1) and also because you can sit right next to it. My photo was taken in November 2018, which is a nice time to visit after the autumn crowds have retreated and the falls are partially frozen. Gorgeous hidden gem about a mile or so off Hwy 61 on Hwy 1. Park on the gravel pull off on the left and then it's a short little hike (if you can call .10 of a mile a hike) to the falls. I gem of a location not far from Hwy 61. Park at the designated parking lot and make your way down to the best cliff jumping spot on the North shore. Waters plenty deep.
