If I could give this store zero stars I would. I was absolutely appauled at the manner my family was treated at this location. My cousin recently flew in from Boston to visit and we stopped in the store to buy a Geek Bar. My cousin is currently on an H-1B visa, has her masters and has been living in the US for over 15 years. In all this time, she has never ONCE had any issues using her passport to buy an e cigarette, alcohol or any other good or medication in the US.
The clerk who was attending us (a young woman in her early 20s, with short, hot pink hair & glasses) barely took a look at the passport and said she could not sell to my cousin. When we inquired further, she refused to give us any information. I proceed to ask her what her name was, and she refused to do so and flipped over, what I assume, was her name tag, and would hold onto it firmly the entire time I was trying to speak to her. I looked over my cousin's passport and all her information and valid US visa were all visable, easily readable and up to date.
I asked the clerk again if she could give us a real reason for why she could not sell to my cousin and she abruptly said it was "state and company policy to not accept anyone with passports."
I asked for the clerk's name again, and she refused to even look me in the eye, would not give me her name and would not talk to us. We promptly left, but my cousin left completely embarrassed & did not want to do much the rest of the day for fear of being treated that way again.
I insisted we find another shop and after she reluctantly agreed, I drove less than a mile before we found another shop where we were kindly attended. The clerk at the counter took my cousin's passport, helped her find a new brand of e-cigarette (they were out of stock of the one she intitially wanted), they actually took time to review her passport and insert her info into their system and we left without any problems. Isn't it strange how "state law" doesn't apply down the road?
I've worked in Immigration law for several years and I'm still in shock by the clerks rude dismissal and mishandling of the entire situation. Passports are valid forms of ID and all she had to do was enter my cousin's information to override their system.
At best the clerk was lazy or untrained, at worst she or the comapany's policy is racist and xenophobic.
If you are a POC, immigrant or ally please save yourself the time, money and dignity and do NOT shop here. The clerk made no effort to help us understand the situation (if she truly was untrained) and in the very least she could have directed us to a new location. Instead she made my cousin feel as if she was doing something wrong and embarrassed her infront of the...
Read moreI totally agree with the bad reviews. Especially the ones dealing with your ID and rude customer service. I don't use vapes but my wife does. We go practically everywhere together, and as such, I went in with her. My wife, who is 51 years old, forgot her ID but I had mine. We have both been here several times and they have never asked me for my ID except when I actually purchase something. Admittedly, I have very rarely purchased anything here. My wife asked if they had her brand of tobacco vape and the rude, discourteous, female whom I assume everyone is complaining about in the bad reviews, overheard my wife tell me she did not have her ID and that she would wait outside in the truck. Ms Personality told her that she could not sell anything to either of us even if my wife was not present because she did not have her ID. I told her I would take my wife home and come back later and she said she could not sell me anything even if I came back tomorrow because she knew I was buying it for her. This totally did not make sense since I had come in there last month and bought tobacco vape for my wife and showed them the empty vial and told them I was buying the vape for my wife and wanted the same brand. I even called her from the place in front of a different male employee and put her on speaker so the clerk would know what type to get. This place just doesn't care about customer service. Almost everyone who works there is either curt and unfriendly or acts baked or high all the time. One employee even told me that the owner doesn't care because they are the largest producing Vape World in Missouri. Obviously we will never be going there again. With so many Vape shops in the area, why throw your money away so you can be treated with disrespect and...
Read moreI’ve shopped both at this Jane, MO location as well as the Centerton, AR location for years — spent a lot of money. Aside from difficulty in keeping certain coils in stock, it’s typically been okay. But, since the main thing I buy is e-juice, I can’t continue wasting my money here.
A month or so ago, I bought a new bottle of the e-juice I’d bought consistently for years. But after trying to vape it, it was nasty and rancid tasting. It was nauseating and un-vape-able. Took it back the next day, and they didn’t seem to care that I’d wasted my money. I let it go and bought a new brand that they specifically recommended. It was fine for a few weeks.
Then the bottle I bought yesterday of the same brand and flavor turned out to be dark and musty-tasting, like it had been sitting in a used tank for a year. Again — un-vape-able, unless you like being nauseated. This bottle was clear and I showed them the bright yellow color it should be versus the almost brown it was (it was in a box when purchased).
These were different brands, both from the Jane location, and both times the employees didn’t seem to care. I’m not giving my business to a store that happily takes my money while not standing behind the products they sale. There are ways to make it right, but they have no interest. It shouldn’t be a lottery each time as to what you’ll actually get. And some brands have dark bottles, so you can’t tell in the store...
