Food Mart Thriftway — Local services in Belleville

The store is clean and very good size for a small town but the prices are awful. As for the meat comments, I agree, the meat was scary to look at (a few packs were greenish) so I've never gotten to the point of trying any of it. I just moved in up the street and I'm so disappointed since i was hoping to walk here frequently for dinner items. I didn't think prices could be any higher than the store in Superior NE, but they are. I sure miss the little grocery store in Deshler NE, which is a town of about 300; if they can have reasonably priced food, then any store can. Honestly, I will go without before I buy food at this...

Every time I shop here, I buy something outdated, stale or moldy. How often does the Health Department inspect this store? The meat department terrifies me, how long they let open meat sit out while they slowly get around to getting it wrapped. It is only a matter of time before people start getting seriously sick. And for folks that don't have means to travel, there is no other option to buy food....

Had plenty of bad experiences here. They routinely sell out-of-date food so buyer beware. Pricing is high but that is normal for small town shops like this. Customer service is very lacking. Would recommend going to Dollar General if they have what you are looking for, or driving to Wal-Mart (~18 miles from here in Concordia)...
