My lush, pretty bonsai is a gift from my generous, thoughtful friend♥️and was delivered on 6/19/24 (ref. First three pictures) It was packed protectively with a wooden Bonsai Starter Kit, the craftsmanship of which is impressive!

With the above criteria, I rate it a 5-star. However, there is no information with the tree, in the brief Indoor Bonsai Care (IBC) or in the Survival Guide (SG) as what its name is. I am highly interested in its name.

I do not know what kind of tree this is. Is it a tropical or subtropical tree?

The IBC states that “Your new tree will take several weeks to settle . . . may shed 20% of its leaves . . . for best results place your tree near south or west facing windows . . . water every two or three days . . . never allow your bonsai to completely dry out.”

Today is 7/2/24, two weeks from the delivery date. It seems more than 20% of its leaves are shedding (ref. last two pictures). Consequently, I moved it from our west facing window as I would like my bonsai to thrive and live long given its sentimental value. It’s worrisome to see it with these many leaves shedding!

The SG has instructions on trimming. However, it does not state whether trimming can be done before the weeks of adjustment in its new environment is over. How will I know when my bonsai has settled? What is the average number of “several weeks”?

The foregoing uncertainties are what drive my...

Do not buy here! First off they contract out, so they have no quality control. I received my $50 bonsai tree and it looked like a pine sapling. Nothing like their lovely product pictures. It is the sadest tree, very gangly, larger than advertised and not in a good way. Plus very little folliage and due to no branches. This was not a 7-year old bonsai tree that was nurtured by a skilled hand, this looks like something I could have gotten at the local hardware store. I shared my disappointments and customer service did not accept any responsibility nor offer any apologies for the lack of quality. So really, do not bother with shopping here - it was a total waste.

I did contact customer support and they said the pictures and measurements aren't necessarily typical of the plant sold and sure, they could exchange it...

Received two amazing trees. The UPS driver dropped the large box on my porch on its side. I saw it happen and ripped the UPS driver a new one. Upon unboxing, the large pot on the Mound Juniper was shattered even though the protective packaging was excellent. I contacted Bonsai Outlet and they immediately responded and handled the situation right away by sending out a new pot along with everything needed to repot this magnificent specimen. Great customer service. There are a lot of haters out there that get off on leaving negative reviews. All I have to say is that if you don't like the price then don't buy it. If you go to a competitor of course they are going to rip the competition duh. I give 5 stars based on customer service and the quality...

I was in need of a Bonsai tree for a special gift to a family member. I found Bonsai Outlet online and since they were located in the same state, I figured I'd give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised with their customer service. The interaction I had via email gave me a feeling of a personal business focused on 100% customer satisfaction. Bonsai Outlet was inviting and encouraging which made me feel like I made the right choice. Then, the big moment arrived, the delivery of my Chinese Elm. The tree came carefully packaged and cared for. At last!!, I was fully satisfied with my choice of Bonsai Outlet. A great company to get all your Bonsai needs from.

Received my first ever bonsai yesterday. Carefully packed and even more beautiful than I imagined. I liked that you can see exactly the plant that you are purchasing. I was afraid I overpaid because I saw bonsais being sold by Home Depot, lowes and amazon for so much less. I started to educate my self on bonsai trees and after seeing this plant I made the completely right choice. Amazingly beautiful to me.
