Where We Create — Local services in Bernardston

Ok, so I'm the husband of someone who describes herself as a "novice" quilter. I saw her differently, given the beautiful quilts she's created intuitively from her artistic roots without training,and yet, respected the knowing she had of her limits. I experienced her bringing a quilt topper and backing that was gifted to her from a dear friend who recently passed to Where We Create to quilt it and put the binding on. Mind you, this was a sacred gift that we knew was something VERY special, irreplaceable, a keepsake. What seemed like it would be a straightforward project quickly became very gnarly due to the trapezoidal shape of the topper and fabric density. Debbie, Donna and the community at Where We Create went all-in in record time using their deep quilting expertise and on-the-fly creative problem solving and tenacity to cheerfully square up the trapezoid with grace. These are people who are as caring as they are knowledgeable and share their gifts beautifully and with love and humor. A much needed space for Franklin County! My mom and I came across this beautiful sewing/quilting studio when she was visiting and we were looking for something to do over the weekend.

We were treated by Donna, the owner, and her two adorable doggies.

Donna has a quilting store, the “She Shed” and a large indoor work space/studio where she invites sewers of all levels to come and learn, create, shop, and have community.

My mom and I took a wonderful class from Donna where we both learned new skills and had a blast.

I have been back many times and will continue to join open sew sessions and take various classes!

The community of sewers and wonderful souls that gather at this magical spot is something that I am truly grateful for! I hope you will come and experience it...

I cannot say enough great things about Where We Create. The She Shed is stocked full of really cute fabrics, the selection they have is great and new fabric is coming in all the time! I’ve had multiple quilts long armed and they came out beautiful. I often attend the open sew and everyone is so friendly and helpful. The sewing space is huge with tons of outlets, irons, ample cutting space.

Donna and her team are exceptional. They are always willing to lend a hand on a project and offer advice. They have really fostered an amazing community and gathering space for crafters. There is a good variety of classes offered and I’m looking forward to...
