Bricktown Pizza — Local services in Berwick

I got so excited when I saw there was a pizza place in town that gave off higher end pizzeria vibes, so I had to try it. This place is tucked away on a side street right off of rt11. I didn't even know it existed, despite driving by it a few times a week, until looking around online for a place in Berwick that offered a sweet sauce pizza, since my usual spot (Franco's) doesn't have a storefront anymore.

Let me start with the bad first, the pizza was underdone, there was absolutely no browning on the bottom of the crust and it was extremely dense and floppy I suspect that the floor temp of the oven was too low or the hydration of the dough was too high. This ruined the experience of a potential great pie.

I also ordered the cupping pepperoni pizza, and there wasn't one cupped roni' which was a little disappointing, but it still tasted like a good quality pep, but I'm a sucker for those crispy cupped edges.

The good: The cheese and the sauce are fantastic! I got one pie with sweet sauce and one pie with the regular tomato sauce, they were both out of this world and had a pretty intense tomato-y in your face flavor. The cheese was also high quality and delicious.

The service was nice too! The person answering the phone was extremely pleasant which is a nice change from some of the other places in Berwick (I'm looking at you, Bob's subs)

This is a newer place, I think they said they have been open for about 3 months, so I will give this place another month or two to work their kinks out and I'll gladly try it again, for all I know, the undercooked dough could have been a total fluke (but I did see some other reviewers mention it). I usually give restaurants 3 tries before I totally write them off, but I am looking forward to trying again because this has some potential to rate right up there with the best of the best pizzas in Berwick.

Until the cook on the dough is hammered out, I'm sticking with an average 3/5...

I have to say, from what I've tried so far this should be considered one of the best pizza places in Berwick! It was hard for me to be able to order from them at first because my work schedule didn't fit with their hours but now that I know they're open earlier than 4 I'll be giving them more business. So far I've tried plain, chicken bacon ranch (twice!), clam pizza (twice!) and their sweet sauce pizza. I am definitely impressed! The flavor in the crust is great and it's something different that you wont get anywhere else. One thing.. if you're into pizzas with chicken (chicken bacon ranch / buffalo chicken) then you may have noticed some pizza shops using chicken that's cut up into little cubes. They use shredded chicken (as it should be) and that brings out the flavor. I saw a post on Facebook for their clam pizza and after reading the description I had to try it just because it's something new to me. Not everyone likes clams but if you do then you have to try this pizza! I like the fact that they're experimenting with new things. Not too many pizza shops seem to bother adding things to their menu. It's one thing for someone to run a pizza shop and just pump out the same thing every day but it's a whole other ball game for someone to come up with innovative ideas on new kinds of food. We were passing thru Berwick after a doctor appointment. We were hungry and wanted to try something different. I had previously seen a review that Jim (NepaPizzaReview) did of this place so we decided to give it a try. Arriving at the shop we were a little confused because it had a notary sign on the window , we later learned that the owner also runs a notary at the same shop. We ordered the 12” plain with their regular robust sauce and another 12” with their sweet sauce. Both were very great tasting , i did however prefer the sweet sauce. We got talking with the owner who was very sweet. She kept apologizing that he son was there and had his toys out and was a little grumpy. As a mom of a child , I told her it was completely fine and we didn’t mind. We will definitely be back to try their other menu items again when in the area. Shawnna...
