I have been coming here since I was 3, and it has ALWAYS been awesome. Since they renovated it, it feels so big, light and airy that the kids don't get bored if they need a break from skating! They can sit at any of the tables or play games, and you can still easily see them from the floor, which is important to me because we don't all have cellphones and I've lost track of my kids at other rinks already, so this perk is HUGE in my book!
My kids love the snack bar food and the video games you can play when you're not on the floor. The staff is super-responsive if you need help, and DJ Logan is absolutely one of the kindest people you will ever meet. He's gone way above and beyond the "call of duty" for my family on several occasions, and he's AWESOME about taking requests!! If he doesn't have "your song," he'll do everything in his power to get it for you!!
Really, unless you make a huge haul to New York or something, I don't think you'll find anything that can beat Bethlehem Skateaway on a Saturday night!! They are awesome about keeping their schedule current on their website, so please make sure you check it before you go, just to make sure you haven't missed a change in scheduling. Then head over there and pay the extra for the "low top" quad skates as soon as your child can fit into them. The "low-tops" are in much better shape and are sturdier than the older, high-lacing brown ones. You and your kids will do soooooo MUCH better with the low-tops; pay a couple of extra bucks for them if you need skates, and you'll have a BLAST!! THANK YOU, BETHLEHEM SKATEAWAY!! WE ARE PROUD TO CALL YOU OUR HOME FOR ROLLER...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible. Do not book for birthday party unless you want to be disappointed. Had my 5 year old sonâs birthday party here. I signed a document and put a deposit for a Sunday about a month prior. 2 DAYS BEFORE they call me and ask if we are all set for Saturday knowing that I booked it for Sunday. I had pictures of the documentation and everything stating it was for that Sunday. They told me that the lady gave me the wrong paper to sign and that they could not do Sunday. When I asked if they could fit us in for Sunday and if they were booked up for that day they said they couldnât because they had âstuff to doâ sunday. So unprofessional. I had to contact everyone who rsvpâd just to see if they can come the day before. They said the most they can do is have the party Saturday instead and give me 75 dollars off or I can just get my deposit back and that was it. We ended up having it Saturday, they charged extra for kids who wanted to do inlines and totally ripped me off. The amount was twice the amount what it was suppose to be originally including the 75 dollars off!! They charged me 60 dollars in gratuity for putting a couple slices of pizza down for the kids. I Asked why it was so much more expensive and she said their website is not up to date and the amount per kid was actually more. Place was run down, bathrooms were disgusting. Staff was super unprofessional and we definitely will never be back here again. All they wanted to do to make up for the inconvenience was offer a few passes to come in for free next time. Didnât want them cause there definitely wasnât going to be a next time. What a...
Read moreI took my daughter here to celebrate her 14th birthday who wore an obvious birthday crown; who celebrated with siblings and a friend and was repeatedly entreated with rude and cold staff on the skating floor (the staff wore a black and white referee shirt) even after she fell and has a fractured wrist and arm that she is crying to sleep at this very moment about!! She complained that after she fell the staff on the skating floor told her, "No I can't help you" after she kindly asked for help and immediately skated away. My other kid(s) complained that this same staff rudely told them that they couldn't be on the floor after my son fell multiple times when this is the first time he skated. There was one older female staff who asked if he was okay. Completely inappropriate!!! As far as the other rude staff, they should be sensitive to the birthday girl to say the least!!!!! If it weren't for the the friendly lady giving tickets at the booth and the guy handing out the skates, I would have given this place a 1 or less!!!!!We were the minority group and was welcomed by only half the staff that was present but was entreated with rude and odd stares most of the time when we relied heavily on the support of family and friends to have a ball that compensated!!!!!! And please don't come with the lame excuse that there are rules to be followed. There is no rule that excuses being rude and insensitive to children AT ALL. They only have one childhood to live and places like this is supposed to create lasting and favorable...
