Our daughters car broke down and we had her get it towed to Johnsons to have them look at it and get an estimate. After they got it on the hoist they told us it was worse than we thought and said it would cost over 5000.00 to fix it. My husband told him that we would need to talk to our daughter and see what she wanted to do and hold off on the work. They then told my husband that the car was solid and if she decided to get a new car the tech would like to buy it from her. I called around and found a car dealership that was in Muskegon where we live that could get all the work done along with the same mileage motor, 3 year warranty, ball joints, tyrods, and stabilizer links and a heater we knew needed fixed for 3100.00. So my husband drove up there to pick up the car to find out they had most of the motor disassembled and almost out. He told them to hold off on the work and I told them we needed a couple days to make an informed decision before they did any work when I called to ask a couple questions about the motor and ball joints. When my husband got there the guy was being a complete jerk and refused to help my husband get the car on the dollie. The engine ran but has a whole in the block. Since they drove it into the shop he figured that he could drive it onto the dollie. No harm no foul. They had the engine half out there was no way he could drive it the few feet needed to get it on the dollie to get it home. He struggled with it for quite some time until someone finally came out to help him. Very poor attitude after we believe they just wanted the car to fix and sell. But when you are high balling jobs to the tune of well over 1000.00 more what do you expect. It is called price shopping. A college student does not have 5000.00 laying around to fix a car. But I guess since we told you to hold off on the work and you still chose to go ahead you will save us some money in the long run. Just to bad your toddler tantrum which i refused to believe when reading reviews was true as soon as you found out that we would not pay your inflated prices. Shame on you. I would like to thank the guy that finally came out and helped my husband after watching him...
Read moreIf I could give them negative starts I would! Took my car here because the headlights were malfunctioning at night. Which is very dangerous and concerning. They made me aware of $129 diagnostic fee, which I believe is fair. But then they called to ask if they could have two more hours because I have not figured out the issue and my radio was not corresponding with the system. I asked if this was going to resolve my headlight issue as well because I’m not really concerned about my radio that’s not why I brought it in. And they said yes, they think that this might be an overall fix so I okayed another two hours at $129 an hour. After that I had about a $400 fee, they had not figured out what was wrong with my headlights yet and asked to bring it back as they were driving it during the day and did not see the headlights acting up. I asked how I would do that as it only happens at night and they suggested to bring it back a different night so they could keep it overnight. I agreed and brought it in days later when they were available. After keeping it overnight, I received another phone call the mechanic wanted three more hours to diagnose it. They couldn’t tell if it was a wire issue or a modular issue. I asked if I was understanding correctly, it was going to be near $1000 just to figure out what was wrong with my car without any repairs? They confirmed that that was a case. Needless to say I declined the three extra hours and will be picking my car up and taking it to a dealership or different shop. My mind is blown I’m out at $400, without use of my car for several hours in exactly where I started. Do not take...
Read moreI brought my vehicle in for them to tell me why my vehicle was grinding and not wanting to fully turn. They ended up giving me quotes for over $8,000... They told me I needed wheel bearing and tie rods replaced but I had just had them replaced. I told them that Belle Tire had been working on my car and it had been in the week prior for all new tires alignment and one of the part to be fixed. And that Belle Tire had also replaced several other tie rods and parts over the last several months... So after hearing this they started backpedaling and told me that if any of those parts are good they will reuse it... But they had just told me they were bad... He pushed for stuff to be fixed that was already fixed and he would not listen to me on what I really needed fixed. Thank goodness I went and got a second opinion my wheel bearing and tie rods are fine. Turns out the CV axle seal is bad and was getting dirt in there which is why I was getting a grinding. And I couldn't turn my steering wheel because the ABS sensor was off. When the guy kept pushing for the wheel bearing and that stuff to be done. He told me that there might not even be anything wrong with the back end even though he just got done quoting me over $3500 bc that stuff was bad... and then the final kicker is when he said "we're taking a stab in the dark"... I paid $130 for them to tell me what was wrong with my concerns of my vehicle and instead they tried to screw me over. I'm a single mom of four kids and I'm downright upset that they would...
