The legion has been growing and changing for a few years now. It is more than just a bar with fun staff, tasty bar food, pot lucks, weekly Saturday meals, great games, awesome entertainment, and active in the community. It's a home. A family. It's not perfect, but for Veterans and family of vets. It's a place to belong.
Let's not forget that D'Oldhams is down stairs. The absolute best breakfast in Birch Bay!
Members can become board members. I mean it's a place where you can actively change the culture, policy, and flow.
The legion is a private club. You have to be a service member, related to a service member, married to a service member, or a guest.
Everybody there is a volunteer. They work for tips, or just volunteer because they love this place. Drinks are the cheapest in the county. $2.75 draft. The most expensive drink is $10.00. They have non-alcoholic options. Hell they even host AA meetings once a week. (Below the bar)
Games. They do meat draw, 50/50, joker poker, queen of hearts, paddle wheel, pull tabs, and some table top games. They have a dart league, pools tables, and a shuffle board. Outside they have horseshoes.
They can host events to members or the public downstairs and outside. Partial bar option in both areas.
Are you a fan of Poker? They host tournaments, cash games, and pick up games several times a week. Very reasonable entry fees and caps to make sure your not spending a large sum.
Are you a musician or part of a band? They host open mic nights. Do you wanna get on the mic and woo the crowd or make them suffer? They rock out the Karaoke baby! The Legion proudly host several awesome local bands such as The Jimmy Wright band, JP Falcon, Emory Roads, Silver City, and more!
If none of that is your jam, go old school and just rock out the jukebox.
They have RV parking for transit folks. Dry parking and electrical hook ups. Restrooms on site.
If your reading this and your a vet who keeps to yourself. Please don't. You have a place, a home that wants you. If your related to a vet and you don't quiet jive with other normies, they want you too.

Read moreWe come to this area to visit our daughter and her family a few times a year. We just purchased our fifth wheel so this was our first stay. The bar tender assisted with getting set up with an RV spot. She was polite and helpful. The cost of the site was ridiculously low. They had 30amp power service but no other amenities. At night the lot was very well lit which makes it feel very safe. Their on-site lounge provides a nice nearby benefit if one wants to imbibe in an adult beverage. It would be really nice if they could find the funding to fix up their RV area just a little bit. Either way, the Legion has been an awesome friend to American Veterans for over 100 years! If you can get by with just having shore power then you should stay here and support a great organization. We plan to make this our regular stop when we...

This is a place to come to and swap stories, support each other and support vets that might be struggling. We attended the Veterans Day dinner, it wad excellent. The program before dinner paid tribute to those serving, as well as POWs and MIAs. We were very impressed with the young male and female...
