Bought a Dewalt battery jump pack last fall. Stopped working a couple months after buying it. Used it maybe once or twice in that time. Brought it back to Acme to have them warranty it for me or swap it out since that's where I bought it. Turns out they don't warranty any of the tools they sell. I left it with them for 3 months so they could go through their warranty process with Dewalt. Stopped in this morning to see if they got it taken care of since it's been so long thought maybe they just forgot to call. Turns out they can't figure out how to warranty it through the manufacturer. So I picked it up and took it home. I'm going to try and do it myself since Acme does not back the products they sell. Definitely do not recommend buying your tools from an authorized retailer like this. Go straight through the manufacturers website. All I wanted was store credit or something so I could get a working battery pack. *Update* The manager did reach out to me to resolve my issue. I do appreciate the gesture, but I had already taken care of the warranty myself.

Brought an Ariens Ikon 52ā€ mower (don’t buy Ariens, please!) in for service with less than 15 hours on it. The mower deck belt failed and was in need of replacement, plus whatever else may be wrong with it. Mower sat at ACME in Bismarck for two weeks before they even ordered the belt (who has simple low dollar parts, like belts, on hand these days?). It would have taken ACME a month to replace a mower deck belt by the time they ordered it and took their time to install. I called Ariens, while at ACME, explained the situation and they offered to send the belt UPS 2nd day. I’ll just handle it myself, was my message to the service rep. Arien’s authorized service shops simply can’t handle their ā€˜Rapid Care’ promise. So, it’ll be me honoring Arien’s warranty….

Love to buy local. Same prices (or better) than the big box stores but top-notch service from every employee!

I ordered a very expensive Ego 650 CFM 56 volt blower in April and it died this month (October 2023). ACME only warranties for 30 days and Ego expects me to drive to a repair location to drop off for repairs instead of replacing it. 1st and last time buying from ACME and from EGO! I want to update my review for the EGO 650CFM 56 Volt blower. Tim from ACME contacted me and was very helpful and went above and beyond to help me out, I could not be more satisfied with the customer service he provided. He sent me the entire blower kit and I returned my defective unit in the original box it came in. My original purchase was online but the ACME store went above and beyond to help out a customer when EGO themselves wanted me to drive 2 1/2 hours round trip to bring it in for repairs instead of standing behind their product and just replacing it.ACME has earned a new customer! Thank you so much Tim for all you done to help resolve everything. I raise my previous 1 star review to a 5 star all...

I wish there was a competitor that had the same/similar range of products and services. Acme service is consistently poor. Both at the stores and with online orders. Wait times are long, and prices are often steep too. I've experience both the Grand Forks and Bismarck locations for many years.

Recently I placed an order online, and waited a month, then called and was told that the item was discontinued. In spite of this, my credit card was charged. Further, instead of getting me a replacement part, they only cancelled my order, and told me the replacement part costed 2 times as much. They were unwilling/unable to send me the replacement part number for the same price.

Needless to say, I'll be avoiding Acme Tools as much as possible. I hate to do this because I like supporting local stores. However, in a world where online competition is tough, brick and mortar companies really need to excel at customer service. When they can't do this, it's their own fault they...
