Dollar General — Local services in Blades

The location of the blades store saves it from a 1 star rating. From its opening up until about 2yrs ago the blades store was one of the cleanest, well stocked & organized with an excellent manager & an almost perfect staff. I spent 7 yrs traveling from Lake Champlain to Tampa Fl & from the east coast to the mississippi river thats a lot of DG's to compare it to. 1st strike came when the item I bought the most 3 liter cloverdale (i think it was) soda was replaced with name brand because DG was paid more by the name brand company. I stopped in everyday to buy the generic 3 liters so I also bought smokes cat food bread & milk because i was there anyway. I still shopped there a couple times a week until the new management and staff. It gradually got cluttered & unclean looking. Inventory what there is of it stays on carts blocking aisles clearance items are literally piled on shelves so bad it looks like an earthquake has rocked the store. I went in to purchase $100 worth of totes lol i shouldnt have bothered they were in wrong price slots and not one of the many lids matched any totes i picked up 3 sprite 2 liters one had a coke product coupon on neck brilliant young idiot at the register refused to honor it because sprite isnt a coke product!!! She has been there for 2yrs! Same genius was super helpful explaining the lack of cameras in parking lot when these to two well known middle aged hs drop outs asked if there was video proof of car breakins in her lot....these guys walked up there and in fact have never owned cars or held jobs. The door alarm isnt much good for several new employees who ignore it even when the people going out never went to register! My final visit was late night a lady in her early 40s late 30s maybe was engaged in personal conversation with a woman about her age buying cigarettes when it was finally over i asked for empty cig tubes I am 54yrs old and wouldnt have minded being carded even tho I left id home except the woman buying cigs ahead of me wasnt carded. It was 10mins to close and asked the employee to please make one time exception because of the time and my onbious age she refused and had the nerve to blatantly lie to my face saying she cards everyone!!! That was the straw. Never will they get my business. My 2 grown sons & their families my mother and father & 2 of my neighbors will never shop at DG again. FYI: Laurel DG improved 1000 times over at the same time Blades went to pieces. If i ever wanted to go back to DG I would travel further to shop at Laurel DE store. If it was a stand alone it would get 4 stars maybe even 5 for the dramatic improvement! Sorry to run on and on... There were...

I go there on a weekly basis and I love their staff. They always treat me like part of the family. Unfortunately over the last month or two they can't seem to keep their shelves stocked. Items that I would normally go in for are no longer in stock, and even after a week or so there still not restocked. I don't understand why this is happening as they always have plenty of staff working on a daily basis with what looks like lots of new product arriving?? So why are the shelves still staying empty? I hope this gets rectified soon because I truly appreciate every other aspect of going...

I use this place for a dollar off most of the snacks you'll find at a local grocery store chain. There's also cheap good quality electronics and hygiene products. Like tomorrow I'm buying a 28$ coffee Kurig machine. But I stock up on dollar speed stick, crest, soap, and a decent store brand lotion that actually moisturizes my skin, while leaving a pleasant scent for a couple hours. I use this place once or...
