Look, I get it. I understand that this supermarket has Blanding, Bluff, White Mesa and the Rez by the balls; there is absolutely nowhere else to buy groceries in San Juan County, unless you drive to Monticello, which isnât any cheaper. I also understand that convenience is expensive, and if I donât want to drive to Cortez, where groceries are a third of the price, I will pay for the convenience that other communities take for granted. But câmonâŚyou guys are advertising products on sale, on your front window displays, that you donât even carry. I even asked one of your employees âWhere are the potato chips that are on sale?â and I was told, âI donât even know why theyâre advertised, we donât even carry those chips.â What!!! I then asked the manager, poor guy, and he said, âYeah, we didnât get them in.â âBut you are still advertising them?â I got a shoulder shrug. Goodness gracious, peopleâŚitâs only potato chips, I knowâŚbut advertising products on sale you donât carry is unethical, donât you think? Last fall, I was in self-checkout for 22 minutes (I timed it) because most products I tried to purchase were incorrectly priced, and the attendant ran all over the store for the correct pricing. I literally thought yâall were going to 86 me from your supermarket. Most people donât pay attention to the numbers on the screen, so how much money are you guys making off people who donât pay attention? I appreciate you letting me back in so I can pay your outrageous prices, but you need to do your part. This supermarket needs major competition (but not from Blanding Family Dollar, the most expensive Dollar store in the universe, why?), but until then, everybody, check your prices, look at the product, verify expiration dates (and thatâs another story for another timeâŚ) and make that trip to Cortez every couple of weeksâŚitâs worth it. And to the managerâŚ: I know itâs hard. You carry the world on your shoulders. My heart goes out to you. I realize this is a chain; there is so much you can do. Thanks for taking the...
Read morePrices are always high, we are a small community out in the middle of no where, and I can't fathom it costing this much for product based on delivery charges to get the shipments in to justify some of the prices. Sales rarely ring up for their actual discounted price. Even found some products labeled as $0.00 just last Monday. Have found more expired products on the shelf than I have in any other store. Product is often rotten or about to rot. Saturdays are never stocked up and hardly no staff to be found. Why run a skeleton crew on the days that are usually supposedly the busiest? I grew up going to this store, and since moving back I have continued to go to this store, primarily out of obligation and necessity, since they are the only ones that sell 'fresh' produce. Though I feel like every time I do, I'm having to catch the mistakes, or just suck it up and pay normal price... Tried to ignore it up until now, but honestly, the customer shouldn't have to worry about what they are putting in their cart every time they go shopping. Especially those who are on a strict budget and rely on discounts to actually be what they are. A lot of folks are low income and on food stamps. Some honesty and regularity with prices and quality of product would be...
Read moreA nice little market. As expected the prices are high. Most items run on average of about $4.50. $3.00 for a gallon of water. (There is a Family Dollar next door, buy non-perishable items from there, if you can.) The veggies looked good and their fresh doughnut were good. The market on Monticello was more reasonable in their pricing. That Market is about 20 minutes north. Blanding is a Dry town, so no alcohol. You have to go Monticello for those items. Also, they are closed...
